I genuinely cannot comprehend in my mind how ranked makes any sense. It’s so sweaty and unplayable where I’m getting negative K/Ds in every single match.
My last few games, I’ve had Unranked and Diamond players against Onyx, Platinum and Diamond. I honestly don’t understand how messed up the MMR system is to do this.
It’s ranked. It’s supposed to be “sweaty” (whatever that really means).
How low is your K/D?
Your username here doesn’t come up as a gamertag for Halo Tracker - so I can’t see for myself.
Around 1.0 is pretty much where you want to be (once you have found / reached your rank). And for those who tend to play the objectives, it’s not unusual to drift a little to the left.
I take pride in being a team player. I’m not afraid to take one (or more) for the team… and last I checked my K/D was sitting around 0.95
If it’s lower than that it may be that you are post placement and the system is still unsure of your rank - and still giving you a couple of harder games to sort it out.
Or you may have just been unlucky in being the lower ranked player in a couple of bigger hands.
Remember that the “unranked” players have an MMR (unless it is genuinely their very first match) - so they are still being matched in the teams. It is true they can jump around a bit as the system gives them a chance to re-rank, but this only happens around seasons/resets and tends to be for a relatively short window of time.
As for the skill mix… that comes down to the match-maker (who is available at the time) and who is going in as squads. What is the potential gap between high Platinum and low Onyx… a bit over 300 points?
Sadly I’ve seen worse with 2x Onyx players teaming up with a Silver 2.
