I know there has already been a topic on this but, I don’t think halo 5 is going to last much longer with all the big name games coming out. Mafia overtook halo, gears of war is going to, battlefield will aswell and so will cod. That’ll leave halo 5 in the top 20 I think, maybe top 30. It’s already in like 14 or 15th position. Kinda sucks tbh. Hopefully with the customs browser and new stuff coming out there will be more people coming to play.

Where is your info that Mafia 3 overtook Halo 5 from? The most popular Xbox one games doesn’t support this. Is there another source you’re using?

I just looked on the Xbox store on the XBOX, and mafia 3 was in 9or10th position and halo 5 was in 14 or 15th. I don’t have a source except for the fact that it was on the Xbox store on the XBOX.

You were probably looking at “best selling this week”. Mafia 3 is high on that list but not on the “Most popular” list.

I think all four major titles this fall will surpass Halo. Battlefield, Gears, CoD, and Titanfall. It’ll constantly be on the cusp of the top 20, if not in it toward the bottom.
It does suck, because Halo really has fallen from grace as far as popularity.

That assumes that all games currently in the top 20 will experience drops in equal proportion. This is unlikely. The game at the biggest risk from a new CoD is the old CoD.

Despite the new CoD coming out, the Black Ops games in general just seem to hold population better. Halo is currently #16 as of today, so I think seeing it hit 19, 20, or falling off the list by mid-November is extremely possible. It is also possible that Battlefield 4 will drop off as well, but in general I don’t think anything bodes well for Halo.

meh don’t undestimate cod 4 remastered. hell even I’m thinking about getting it. It was a pretty fun game from what I remember.

Your better off not, no matter what they say now its likely that it will get a stand alone release. especially if IW under performs. They won’t announce it now though as they need it as a selling point for IW.
Gears is likely to break the top 20, I hope it does well, it looks pretty solid. Mafia 3 might but from what I’ve heard it may lack staying power. Battlefield is likely to do very well. I’m expecting it to crack the top 5 easy. CoD and Titanfall could be interesting. IW and Titanfall seem to be targeting similar crowds so they could end up interfering with each other, especially given their close release dates.
Halo I believe is turning into the gateway game for Xbox, it’s showing everyone how good Halo is and then showing them all the other games that have exclusive deals with xbox so you can get them as well, Halo has become more of a marketing scheme for Microsoft then their #1 seller.
yeah, i miss when halo was as popular as call of duty when bungie was making it…
The Halo experience is unique, and I reckon a great many people will stick around because of that. H5 will endure.
By now, I think everyone still playing Halo 5 likes the game.
Sure they might leave for a while to play another new game, but they’ll be back because they enjoy Halo 5.
The people that didn’t like Halo 5 stopped playing within the first few months of the game’s release. They might play it every now and then (like me), but mostly they don’t bother.
I think there are 10k more players then in Halo 4 after a year
It’s very telling that MCC, even with it’s infamously broken launch, horrible post-launch support, and still-existent bugs and missing features, has a half star higher rating than Halo 5 on both the Xbox store and Amazon. In the long run, MCC is a game people are going to keep coming back to for years, much more so than Halo 5.
I don’t look at it like that. I see it as, until Halo 6 comes out, Halo 5 is really the only supported way to get Halo. Chances are, anyone who goes to this forum is a Halo fan on some level, meaning they’ll keep playing Halo 5 until Halo 6 comes out. You’ll always need that ‘Halo fix’.
The people who are still playing Halo 5 since launch are not going to be going anywhere. For a lot of us, Halo is the only FPS we enjoy and we will be playing until Halo 6.

That’s what I thought too durring the times of Halo Reach and Halo 4, but then I found other games like Overwatch, Titanfall, Battlefield, GTA V (I know not an FPS, but its still a fun shooter free roam). You don’t need to travel far to find a game that’s better or just as good as Halo.
