I don't play Halo to have "fun". I play to achieve something

Bad management as reported on by Jason Schrier is the likely issue.

The taste of a whale will never go away from their mouths

Isn’t that like saying “outside the Billy Idol fan club, I’ve never met anyone who even liked Billy Idol?”

There are some people like that tbf, those outside of a group that do like the stuff said group likes.

Valid.

But you are here to achieve something, to play competitively, or at least that’s the way I perceived it, yes, you should be able to earn things through leveling and other achievements, no arguments there, but what do you mean by “competitive”? To have a fair and balanced match? A lot of people already feel it’s too competitive due to SBMM in social. Adding in more gametypes is of course something we as players want, especially things that should already be here (Infection, grifball) but these don’t contribute to whatever make Halo competitive, nor achieving things in general.

And how do you know it won’t have more? This isn’t an argument or debate here. This is literally wait and see, it’s coming back in a season or two and there’s nothing we can do to change that, if you don’t like the contents when it releases, you and other players can ask to have it improved. If you’re argument is that it should already be released, fine, valid, fair, and I agree, but we can’t change what was.

It was in 5 right? Fair enough, then ask to add it (and maybe some others) to ranked, with SBMM in place though I don’t think changing it’s name will do anything, FFA right now is the as it will be if it were ranked.

You can, and I heavily encourage it, had you not, I would’ve thought your post was a bunch of compliaints with no solutions suggested, in a mere reply you’ve already expressed some things that make sense and are reasonable.

Not to play devils advocate here, but Halo infinite has never:

  • been open world.
  • Had HVT’s
  • This many collectables and audio logs
  • Spawnable vehicles on demand
    Just to name a few.

There are probably a lot of issues and logic conflicts they’re trying to address that’s honestly a debate worth its own forum post.

There’s multiple factors I don’t want to compete.

No champ ranks.

No collision.

The list goes on. It’s not just add a ranked FFA or slayer and everything is fixed. The whole game is discouraging.

True. Let’s wait and see

Never asked for Halo to be open world

What is htv?

Collectibles can be in an a linear campagain

I guess spawnable vheciles are great but that’s not really a big game changer. Maybe the open world IS the game changer for someone people over all tho it feels like to much of a departure from 1-5. You just won’t be able to play 1- through infnite the same way you can play 1-5

Neither did I, I personally enjoy it, but I know some don’t like it and I understand where you’re coming from.

High Value Target, these give the special weapons when they kill them, I mention them because if Player A has an HVT weapon, joins Player B who doesn’t have the HVT weapon, what will happen?

Will the HVT spawn? If it doesn’t, this would be a problem for player B, if it does, this means they have to prioritize the Host progression over everyone elses, an issue you wouldn’t have in a linear story, they also have to make the code to make sure Player A doesn’t get a duplicate UI item, and then you have to ask if player A should even be able to spawn the weapon.

This one small thing probably requires a lot more code 343i has no experience with and is why I’m personally willing to let the Co-op thing slide, for now.

Yeah, the skulls worked well. But the sheer quantity of collectables in this game would be more of annoyance in a linear path, having to stop every 6 steps for another audio log, armor locker, forerunner artifact, etc.
