I don't play Halo to have "fun". I play to achieve something

If I wanted to have some casual fun I would load up some GTA and mess around with the cars or bikes.

I don’t come to Halo to play like that

I come to Halo to sweat in ranked.

And make forge maps.

If I’m not learning something new. Like a new move or getting a better rank or creating a new map then I don’t play. It’s a waste of time for me to just have casual fun in halo.

Thing is. Even if I did come for causal fun I would still have something to work for but I don’t even have that.

In halo 5 I would’ve had a couple of skins so far. Even tho the req system wasn’t ideal I still felt that need to push harder to get those extra points so I can get a req packs. So even casual play was rewarding

When I win a game of FFA in halo infinite. I’m like " is there any reason to continue?" I have no insentive to get better and even if I was top onyx it’s not the same as champoin 1. So there’s nothing really to work for there either.

Since the abilites are gone. There’s no new jumps to learn. Just basic Sprint and slide stuff.

There’s nothing to work for. Nothing rewarding about this game. I just can’t bring myself to sweat like in older Halo titles. Its just not the same anymore

Uninstall and go play something else.

For a series I played over 15 years I can’t just “go play something else”

All my friends are there. Many people that don’t like the game are playing sorely because their friends are there. I haven’t met a single person outside of this forum that actually likes this game

Same can be said for your apparent favourite game : Halo 5.

I’ve not met an overwhelming reception for Halo 5 at all. Sucks that you enjoy Halo 5, because it’s most definitely NOT a Halo game. Infinite tries to be a Halo game, and maybe the reason you don’t like it is because you are used to playing a Non-Halo game.

That’s why I told you, uninstall, play something else.

Over 15 years my guy.

I’m used to Halo. Period.

Just because Halo 5 is a good game to me doesn’t mean that’s all I was used to.

Idk where you been but if you played Halo 5 then you would know a ton of people loved it. I watched people sit in their own forge maps for hours on end. I’ve been in FULL btb lobbies every night in the first 3 to 4 years of Halo 5. Idk how all of that go memory holed but a lot of people really liked Halo 5.

It was the story and req system they didn’t like. Same with me. I didn’t like the story. I didn’t like the reqs. I didn’t like spartan charge either. It was the rest of the game that was fun

Used to?
What made you stop?

I still play MCC to this day for my Halo fix that isn’t Infinite, are you telling me you just drop MCC for whatever’s new and shiny?

And no, no one liked Halo 5 for its story. They probably did like it for its MP, which was drip feed content which should have been shipped with the game at launch. The moment H5 actually got content, people have already move on, or like me, went back to MCC.

With browsers up and running on MCC, you can play customs all day everyday. If you get tired of that, we still have tons of people in Social MM. The only thing we have that’s empty is Ranked cos all of them are playing Infinite now with how similar Infinite was to H3, which everybody liked.

This is entertainment. You’re not achieving anything unless you’re good enough to make money at it.

I can’t tell if this is satirical for lack of content or what.

I’m sorry you feel that way, but there’s literally nothing we can do there.

Go play ranked.

Come back in a season or Two.

You played “competitively” for req packs? entirely off topic, but my guy, you do know people can just fob around in Infection and get those easy peasy, right, had you said so you “could be MVP” or whatever, I would at least understand, but nothing about req packs requires skill or effort to get.

You gotta be the very best, that no one ever was, to beat Onyx is the real test, reaching champion is the cause,
again, if you wanna play competitively, go try out for tournaments in HCS, unless you are literally the best, beating everyone, you still have stuff to learn.

Go play a different game, or stop taking it so seriously, you are stuck in your own mentality here, if you don’t like things the way they are, you need to figure out how to make the best with what you have.

I would recommend Shyway on youtube. He is a caster for halo my guy. He’s pretty good. There are a lot of cheeky jumps in this game.

Your right. This is more a sequel to halo 3. I just like how I was playing a flight test for infinite and I saw a gamertag. “An imperfect halo 3.”

Imperfect halo 3 is not an insult. Halo 3 stayed alive during the MW2 days and Wow days. It still stayed alive in the face of those two games. I don’t think it is an imperfect halo 3 either I think it is a great game in it’s own right. But I do know that it is nothing like halo 5.

Seems like you’re just trying to belittle him.
Let me ask you this though why does he have to wait for season 2 to play forge which should already be implemented.
Play ranked. Have you played ranked?
How can you enjoy the multiplayer experience in ranked when they added ranked challenges which is an incentive to quit for most players because they can’t choose what ranked game mode to play?
We are the consumers and if you as a consumer have a issue with the game or were lied to about content and want to address it he has every right to. Not saying we’re always right, but most of your answers aren’t real solutions if not all. Game was in production for years and got pushed back as well. No excuses

I know about shy way. My point is that there isn’t much anymore. All those cheeky jumps can be made in halo 5 and MORE.

I guess what I am trying to say and kind of failing at it is that. I couldn’t stand all the movement abilities. It felt like too much.

But I also understand as someone who has stuck with this franchise for over 17 years like you when they do stuff like this it is disappointing.

This is gonna be good.

343i making a poor choice by going to a F2P model is a different argument, if OP wants to play Forge, he’s literally going to have to wait, yes, it SHOULD have been here, but it isn’t and everyone is going to have to deal with it, and hope 343i doesn’t do the same thing next time.

Yes, I have, I’ve dealt with the quitters and the challenges, I’ve made it to Onyx despite all that and believe it or not I enjoy winning 3v4’s, yes 343i should fix that so that people who don’t want to play ranked aren’t coerced into it and quitters are more effectively penalized, until then, I’m sure people already have tournaments with more committed players OP can sign up for, private matches anyone can set up so you can find a good match. Yes, these issues shouldn’t have existed to begin with, but that’s again, an issue with 343i and it’s poor choices. Work around it until then.

I’m not defending the game or 343i but if OP wants to “play competitively” he can find the crowd to do so, if he wants to play forge, he has to wait, he can moan and complain all he wants it’s not going to change that, I’m not saying he’s not justified or wrong in some of his points, but we as consumers have to work with the hand were dealt, we can’t go back in time and magically fix everything.

Either OP can help provide feedback and encourage 343i to improve the game and play it as is, or he can wait.

I agree with a lot of what you said just now, but at the same time “moaning and complaining” is the consumer right because if no one complains how will 343 know to address it or address it quicker. That’s what the forums are for, to give positive and negative feedback in order to let the creators know the communities stance and status on the game.

Forge blah blah blah. Ranked blah blah blah. Tournament blah blah blah.

Congrats on onyx in a progressive system it might as well be cod and we would then be talking about prestige. You still lose more games than you win with a negative k/d. And you quit games often social or not you inconvenience other people without thinking about it.

Just to let you know going to a tournament that is a major lan party and being able to play let alone be able to play on a main stage are worlds apart. Onyx will never get you there. Going to events could get you answers but good luck with that. A lot more goes into being able to play halo in tournament than being better than anyone and beating everyone. Having an inflated ego because of some progressive achievement instead of a ranked achievement is the wrong direction.

Also trying to fight with someone constantly can be pulled at any time. If you cared or had any respect for the people that made it to that level like the people playing on that stage you would realize what it means to have respect for that and stop it and delete your posts.

They can be pulled at any time. What would happen if a dev walked up to you and asked you about the above. If they ask you for your lanyard you give it over or they kick you out. They might kick you out on principle.

Fair enough, but it needs to be feedback, 343i needs to know what we want, I don’t know how we can Improve ranked in OP’S eyes aside from fixing the challenges and quitters,

I agree with OP’s req packs point, earning things is nice, should we ask to do it like halo 3 or some other method? I’m personally all for in game feats awarding gear.

Well if OP wants to be “competitive” he has options, he’s not limited to halo MM.

I’m not trying to fight, I’m saying if OP doesn’t like this game for whatever reasons, he can provide feedback and help fix it, he’ll still have to wait though, or play another game or work around it.

I’m not here to flaunt my ELO or else I would just say “Imagine not being Onyx”, I’m saying, again, if OP doesn’t feel this is competitive enough for him, there are other avenues, he can still play Halo competitively and learn new tricks, he is not limited to a glorified quickplay.

or play another game or work around it.

Look at his profile picture. He plays halo he’s been playing halo for 15 years and he is not going to stop because he doesn’t know other games. He doesn’t have 119k gamerscore on that tag. He doesn’t play other games and this is a shock. I’ve been playing halo for around 20 years. For me it’s inverse I like the game just the way it is.

As for him giving feedback. Just to let you know the op hasn’t posted in a while. He gave his feedback then went back to playing halo.

Then OP can wait for the game to be fixed, it’s really that simple.

Saying he doesn’t like it isn’t good feedback, he did provide a good point with the req packs, but there isn’t much else to work with?

On a side note: 20 years? Congrats man!
