Not exactly. The copy of the game you have is a flight build which will have fewer features unlocked, more bugs, a limited time to play, etc.

It’s like a beta test, you get an incomplete version of the game to test for bugs and see how it feels over all, and the devs work on the game based on feedback.

Going by the last Reach flight I’d say it depends; when that flight ended Steam keys were revoked and an ‘update’ was pushed out which uninstalled the MS Store version. If that happens again you’re probably out of luck unless you can avoid it updating.
