…But when I do, it’s about something pretty important. For those of you that haven’t heard (if there are any of you left), there has just been info released on Halo 4’s soundtrack. Listening to samples of some songs from the soundtrack, I can honestly say that Neil Davidge is a fantastic composer, with some of these songs being as good as O’Donnel’s works.
Listening to this (the song from 343’s first “Making Halo 4” ViDoc), it is apparent that nearly every version of this song we’ve heard up to this point (most of which were badly ripped from the video) just can’t even begin to describe the epic-ness (that’s a word, as of now) of the actual, high-quality song. Please, everyone, do yourself a favor, and listen to some of the soundtrack samples Davidge has posted on Soundcloud.
I have even higher hopes for Halo 4, as a whole, after hearing some of the amazing works that Neil Davidge has composed for the game.

When I first read the title I was expecting one of those complaining threads, I’m glad I was wrong. Also the soundtrack is nothing short of amazing! Can’t wait for Halo 4!

Same here. With all the focus on multiplayer, whether it’s people hating it or loving it, I think hype for the campaign was sort of forgotten. After listening to these, though, Halo 4’s campaign, and hearing these songs in some amazing cutscenes or battles, is what I’m most excited for.
Revival is my fav, and i could see it beeing used when an important character dies (if that happens)

When we first heard that Neil was doing the soundtrack and some samples, there some complaining back then, but I’m really happy there hasn’t been any complaining of the latest samples yet.
It’s funny until Halo I would never have thought I would ever get into modern orchestral style music… But WOW! How can you not appreciate that?

Same here. I was skeptical that anyone could fill Marty’s shoes, but so far Davidge has been showing off some amazing music. If the rest of the game’s soundtrack even compares to the samples on Soundcloud, he will have done a fantastic job.
Davidge is proving to me that he was the correct choice. He wasnt my first choice (Mine was Howard Shore, the LOTR composer), but damn, that is some good music
There is only one word that can describe this.
Epic.
