I don't like the increasing respawn timer in WZFF

Despite some of my previous complaints I have really warmed up to Warzone Firefight and think it is a fantastic game mode. The respawn points can be frustrating and some of the bosses are a little OP but it’s mostly very enjoyable.

However one aspect I am not a fan of is the increasing respawn timer, going up to 30 seconds in the final round. I think 343 added this to make it more challenging but it’s a rather arbitrary and cheap way of adding difficulty to what is already a very hard game mode. It is set to mythic difficulty after all. It’s also a surefire way to guarantee losing to some of the extremely difficult bosses such as the Swarmlords or Warden Eternals if half the players are waiting to respawn for 30 seconds but you have, say, 40 seconds left to kill the boss.

I would support having a universal respawn timer of say 10 seconds for every round.

Does anyone else agree?

I feel like the last round is brutally difficult. 30 seconds to respawn? That’s a sizable chunk of the round!

As of now if half your team does on the final round it’s practically a loss that’s half a minute redrawn and I can’t count the Times where we almost won if we had two more shooting at the enemy

30 seconds respawn timer is overkill. I think the timer should just never increase.

You’re not the only one who doesn’t like it.

“It supposed to make it more difficult! Just git good!” /s

Seriously, it’s the laziest artificial difficulty. Apparently the way to prevent people from winning is to prevent them from playing.

I’m pretty sure with all the complaining, and the constructive feedback 343i has gotten from all of us, I’m pretty sure they’re going to fix that, soon, hopefully.

I’d be fine with it if we didn’t have invincible aimbot robots that take my entire ammo stash to kill.

I agree 100%

Here’s hoping.

Nobody likes the respawn penalty. And it keeps causing lost games because of it coupled with the randomized spawning system. You end up waiting 30sec only to spawn on the opposite side of the map sometimes, especially if you spawn a vehicle. What good does that do? The game has just screwed over your team.
Changes need to be addressed. Has Anyone seen a reply from 343i on it?

If more than 1 person dies in the last round, everyone basically lost the match unless all eight players are in a group. You absolutely need everyone alive to properly tackle the bosses, but that can’t happen with a thirty second respawn time. A better way to increase the difficulty in warzone firefight would be to have static respawn times yet limited lives. It could work as a pool for all players, and if everyone survives a round, another life is added to the pool.

I think the final round should be increased at least by a minute. Killing 7 bosses in 5 minutes is brutal.

Absolutely couldn’t agree more. I didn’t even bother to play WZFF when I found out it had a timer. I despise timers for that very reason. Have a game or game type that you’re having trouble balancing? Can’t get the difficulty right? Don’t want bothered to either improve the AI or find an in depth solution? Use a timer.

I can’t imagine who would even think that actually using 2 timers, both working against the players, would go over well. I almost lol’d when I heard there was only a 5 minute timer on the game and then just SMH when I heard that there was another that kept you from playing for up to 30 seconds. How long do the timers last before you get to the 30 second one? If you’re having a bad game or night… just what percentage of game time do you literally waste just sitting there, waiting to play again? That doesn’t even sound like fun, it sounds like repetitive tediousness.

Good to see I’m not alone on this one.

Yes, because it IS difficult to watch your teammates trying to survive and kill the boss while you’re waiting for being able to respawn… It’s SO NICE to wait and watch, especially on the last round which is so short, so much stuff to do and you have impossibly long respawn time. -_-

I think it should be the other way round if it were to stay, die in the first round and have a long respawn.

Support your teammates and coordinate on the mic to stay alive!

They had to artificially inflate the difficulty to compensate for the horrid REQ system and their bad AI somehow, I’m afraid. Looks like they went with 30 second respawns in time-limited rounds.
