Anyone want to discuss this topic ?
The female spartans do look a little anorexic
Anorexic ?
Like really, really skinny, or just small in general, I like female and some of the armor looks fine to me.
All Spartans in general look a little malnourished. Not sure if thats because they are supposed to be these lean mean fighting machines.
But they just look a little too lean for me.
They need a little bulk. Moooooore muscles!!!
Cortana was so feminine and made to be this -Yoink!- women. The female spartan looks terrible.
One thing I noticed was that certain armor pieces actually SHRINK on the female Spartans.

Indeed, I don’t understand why they did that. Not only is the body size reduced but the armor pieces are as well, I guess it’s done to better accomodate the female model.
Personally, I prefer the male model over the female in Halo 4 most of the time. The female model is way too thin for many of the armor setups we can use.
Yeah, personally the twiggy upper arms are the worst part. Also calves are a bit too dainty looking on most of the female leg armors.
If you don’t like them, I suggest not using them.
Yeah there clearly wasn’t any precedence taken in the player customization.
I’d rather it be simple like it was in Halo 3, literally no size differences.

I disagree. I think for Halo 5 we should be able to make our spartan skinny or buff. That would be cool.

^Pretty much what he said^.

Would kinda mess with the hitboxes though.
Anyway, the reason why the female Spartan models look so dumb is because they’re basically just downsized Male models. People can complain about the Reach Female’s bubble butt all they want, but at least it was a unique model.
In Halo 5, I hope the Female Spartans take after Palmer. Say what you will about her character, but her bodily proportions manage to make her seem female, yet not overly petite, which is a quite the achievement. Hell, in this picture, Palmer could easily be mistaken as a male by someone not familiar with her.
As a person who appreciates the female form I must say the Halo 4 Female Spartans models are a massive step down from Reach.

The Spartans from Reach shouldn’t be able to walk… they’re suffering from some serious spinal deformation.
And while some differences are good, they honestly should be closer to the male models. The Spartan IIs at least look the same no matter the gender, just look at Red Team from Halo Wars. Alice is there… but you can’t tell which she is.
Yeah some of the Armour floats, the left aviator shoulder has no back part to it aha and the Gugnir torso is absolutly massive aha
In Halo Reach, the female Spartans were extremely sexualized with exaggeration on all fronts. In Halo 4, they were extremely skinny to the point of looking anorexic.
Perhaps we should just make the Spartans look female, and not try to make them “hot” or “skinny”.

Recon and Scout are the only armors that work well. And the Contoured sets.

no this is a common misconception about the size of a spartan in halo female vs male sizes. Visually the size looks different but the collision mesh hitbox (the one you don’t see that registers bullet hits) is the exact same size.
So regardless if a player chose a smaller model hitbox is exactly the same.
I prefer female/smaller sized looking spartans. I hated the garbage truck sized males reach had. Way too big of a character for me.
