I Don't Like Being a Guinea Pig

343 I know you heart was in the right place but you have to have some confidence in yourself and in this community if you want Halo to succeed online.

The problem is you are a new game company without established experience jumping into a established game franchise and community. Not much has changed around here in 10 years. Then you come in like a new step-dad and start screwing around with a system that has worked and that we grew so accustomed to.

So stop using us as guinea pigs in your “Halo” experiment. That’s not what we want. We don’t have time to sit here and watch you stumble to find the right words like a awkward adolescent boy. We need a development team to carry on Halo and not change it because you are only making that card house too big. Eventually the weight of the new changes are going to all come crashing down.

You see the main problem is you focused on giving Halo the “343 edge” that you thought it needed. You tried too hard when you didn’t need to. You wanted to make sure that everyone knew that there was a new person in change of Halo when it should have been a seamless transition.

Bungie started out the same as you, only when they were in your shoes they were still finding out all that Halo could be; working on DEFINING it. So to come in 10 years later like you are, it feels like we are starting over again from scratch, like you need to figure out what works to make the game better when if you would have just followed the traditional formula then you wouldn’t be in this mess.

As a whole in the company you all must be so exhausted trying to appease so many, and finding that most of the things you do are a hit or miss. We get it, we really do. But most of us do not have the time nor patience to wait for you to get your “Halo” bearings.

TL:DR
Halo is a established franchise with a equally established fan base. 343 is trying to hard to redefine Halo and finding that they are only making a bigger mess of things as there weekly experiments fail. We have not come this far in these last 10 years of a amazing franchise to start back over at square one with 343.

(Just a side note to those who may say, “you complain but show no ways to improve the game”, that is not what this thread is about. There are countless others, including myself that have discussed and brainstormed ways of fixing Halo 4. Personally I am to the point where I know Halo 4 is beyond saving and have given up and moved on to better games.)

I feel that Halo 4 would have been a better endeavor if they just tried to improve and add onto what we already had in Halo 3. But do not confuse that as remaking Halo 3.
It is very obvious that 343 built upon Reach, with things as Sprint, loadouts, and AAs returning. 343 decided it was a good idea to build onto Reach instead of the original trilogy.

Although, to be fair, I really don’t think that 343 could have ditched everything from Reach. Reach has a very vocal following, and many Halo players started with Reach. It wouldn’t make sense to those players if all the additions to Reach just simply disappeared in Halo 4. Really, it’s Bungie’s fault for treating us as guinea pigs with their Destiny prototype(Reach).

The only problem I have with this game is spawning with a shotgun, that is it, the rest of the improvements are fine by me. Been playing since halo 1, my favorite online was 3, but this online is by far the best , right behind 3.

I agree that many of the features were built around reaches formula. I would not go so far as to say that halo 4 is beyond saving. The biggest mistake was not having a public beta. I would also like to state that the community is divided in certain areas. Some people say the dmr is OP, some say it is fine, some people think camo is op some say that its fine. Some people want them to focus on BTB. some say that aim assist and magnetism is crazy. Some think the game is the best in the franchise
