Been a Halo fan since Halo 1. Just tried the Halo 5 demo.
I knew there was a problem when the generic military music started up at the main menu screen. After finally finding a game I was horrified to be in a game that played nothing like the other games in the Halo series. Every made some progress compared to the previous game. We were never playing the same game over and over again. Halo 5 is not progress. It is an entirely new game. As it stands right now Destiny feels and plays closer to the Halo series we all know.
They really should call this game something other than Halo. I will not be fooled into buying it because it has Halo on the cover. Neither should you.
I’m still gathering all the info and opinions I can before making my final decision.
I am interested in the campaign, but the multiplayer leaves me skeptical. If they balance everything by release, great. If they give into people whose sole strategy is to spray the AR and use it in tandem with the various new and flashy ways to beat someone down, yeah…I’m gone…
Can you go into any deeper detail about how un-Halo Halo 5 is? Because where I’m standing, it feels like a Halo game to me. Map control is fairly important, getting control of the power weapons is crucial, teamwork is a must and the only big change is having new movement options that I think work for the better. But if you feel Destiny is a truer Halo experience than Halo 5, by all means go for it. I’ll probably play both, but I’ll stick with Halo 5 for Halo. Destiny is nice, but I’d rather not have a Halo game where everybody has access to a heavy and special weapon available on spawn with overpowered super moves special to three distinct classes. Just not Halo to me,

Yes because golden guns, going ninja, and powers similar to the force totally resemble Halo more then 5 does.

Odd. When I played the heck out of it last weekend my first impression was that Halo was back for the first time since H3, I mean it has its quirks, but give it a chance and actually put more than a few hours into the game and then come up with an opinion. If you still come to feel this way please do not belittle others for thinking it gives a Halo feel or tell us not to buy it, because that is not your right. You can make the decision to not buy it, but you will not tell me what to do.

The feel of movement, gunplay, the way the game looks and sounds, how it feels to interact with the game and other players are for more important than bells and whistles or abilities and powers.
Destiny looks and feels like a Halo game. Halo 5 does not.

Don’t buy this game. Go buy a PC and play something better.
It looks like COD, but I can’t wait to try it out for myself. My friend rated it 8/10, and Halo 4 6/10.
I know he liked Halo 4 in the start though so the hype might wear off soon. He only managed to play the game for a month before he went back to Halo 3 and other games.
I don’t know what game you were playing, this reminded me of the first time I played Halo 2. It feels great to me. I don’t recommend using the default controls though, use something you’re used to. It doesn’t even feel like a completely new game to me. It feels like a Halo game that feels fresh. It still has all of the quirks of the old games such as descoping when shot, focus on map control, and the overall balance. I think it is absurd that people are saying it isn’t Halo after playing it for 5 minutes. Get a real feel for the game and people need to realize that the smart-link is not ADS, it is still scoping, they just decided to actually design sights for the weapons now and doesn’t make the weapon more accurate. You still get descoped when shot.

Good advice. I despise the ‘default’ controls of this game, perhaps finding a new setting would help me not hate this game as much as I currently do
I may give it a chance. However it looks like it’s just hype so far. I’ll wait another few days to play it then I’ll base my opinion once it has time to get stale.

I think the Spartan Chatter gives the game some character, I don’t find it too annoying and actually makes for some funny moments.
