I love the core game and the weapons etc etc.
What I don’t like:
This predatory monetization on basic things like -Yoink!- colors
The terrible challenge XP only system
The padding in the battlepass (really? have to unlock arms separate?)
and then there is this
Not being able to choose which game mode
This part is going to kill my enjoyment faster than anything else at this point. The average person just wants to play slayer or maybe strongholds but they generally don’t want some objective other than kills. Well they get forced into CTF/Oddball matches and refuse to even play the objective. Every match its only 1 or 2 people even trying to win the game.
I reaaaaaally just don’t enjoy the gameplay of CTF/Oddball
It’s either one team curb stomps and the match is over in 5 min or 1 team scores and plays defense the rest of the game to drag it out. Relies heavily on coordinating with your team and there is 0 coordination when you are solo/duo queue. No one talks in-game anymore, no one types, and have rarely had anyone even use the ping system.
So it seems every match I play is either CTF or Oddball and I am going to lose it lmao. I just want an option for people who just wanna play slayer. So they can do what they want and stop throwing matches.
Extras:
- Please don’t drip feed core modes that have been in the game for a decade (infection, swat, etc)
- Don’t rotate modes in and out like swat (similar to what destiny does)
- Please add a rejoin match option (especially for ranked, like this is such a basic thing that should have been here, to begin with)
It really saddens me that a lot of these issues could have been avoided had 343 simply acted on feedback given to them 6-12+ months ago. The progression system had plenty of backlash (like a lot) when they announced it, the predatory monetization of COLORS was given feedback, and it seems like they had to delay forge and coop AGAIN to deal with these issues because I don’t think people are gonna last 2 months if things don’t change drastically.
I can deal with the other stuff a bit longer but not being able to choose which game mode to play is directly impacting gameplay and player experience in matches.
