Ive gotten to the point where Im probably gonna go back to Reach. Yeah it wasn’t perfect but in my opinion it beats Halo 4. Don’t get me wrong Halo 4 has some good but most of it is flawed. Its a huge let down when you have been a true Halo fan from day 1. Also seeing the GDC video really shows all the mistakes 343 has made. Halo isn’t about making multiplayer fun for everybody, its competitive and thats how it should be. 343 shouldn’t be changing Bungie’s masterpiece but adding more and creative ways to make Halo even better, but they didn’t do that. They don’t listen to anybody on these forums and there are a lot of legit topics that are worth seeing… I just wish they would at least attempt to fix the problems.
Don’t say 343 doesn’t listen to the community. That’s a blatant lie and we all know it.

They said the community wanted a progression system with in-game rewards that affect gameplay.
Where did they get that?

Really? Says who? The thousands of people who do everything in the game but the competitive playlists, or the hundreds that do?

The cod community.

Oh, they sure listen. To the community. Not our community, but some other community out there that wanted an upwards-only progression system without any competitive ranks or balanced, un-handicapped gameplay.

As much as I wish this wasn’t true. It seems to be.
Halo did not need to expand its fanbase. It was large enough already. Just look at how popular Halo 3 was when it came out. 800K+ unique players on daily months and months after release.

I’m sorry, I can’t go back to that.
Halo 4 is a good game, the thing about it is it lacks a point to play after a certain point.(I mean there is still fun to just play, but no goal really than plain xp progression) They are out to appeal to casual gamers, but I think the competitive community is making themselves known and 343 is responding. Maybe we’ll see CSR appear in-game, eventually. Though, for some reason Frankie is just very against that whole skill exposed environment.

I prefer a progression system over rank any day.

I’m not a big competitive guy, but I say “why not both?”
The clear separation of ranked and social playlists I think was a good idea.
