Cause it was more of a grab bag back then not every match I would get stomped some times I got people worse then me you never knew what you were going to get a blow out, a even match, or your team just skunking them it was more balanced with no SBMM
I’m over people getting left out of groups and being alienated for not being good enough or having too high of a SBMM in a social playlist if you wanted balance that’s what rank is for
No that’s not what I asked. I asked why your friends aren’t okay with losing all of the time with SBMM.
Here, I’ll go ahead and answer it for you.
Your friends actually want SBMM because they’re not okay with getting stomped all the time. They have the option between getting stomped repeatedly, or having more evenly balanced matches more consistently. They choose more evenly balanced matches over playing with their friend (you). Now if you want to take this anecdote and extrapolate it to the bottom 10% of players, I bet if you give them the option of either being stomped in virtually every game, or getting matched with players close to their skill level, they’re going to choose option B.
You said it yourself: Your friends aren’t willing to play with you because they don’t like getting stomped. If a solo player at the bottom 10% doesn’t even have a friend to keep them playing the game, why would they ever settle for a game that’s just gonna stomp them into the ground over and over?
So sbmm can be kept?
They get stomped randomly not consistently over and over
Same issue here.
20 characters to short.
Correct. And they prefer option A (getting stomped randomly) instead of option B (getting stomped consistently). So you can just read the rest of my post that you decided not to respond to, and observe that this is the reason SBMM works better for the bottom 10% of players who don’t want to get stomped consistently.
But if they try to play with a friend better then them they will consistently get stomped so they are forced to play only with people in their SBMM range
The problem is what does this consist of? A relaxing easy 20+ kills with hardly any deaths each match? Like what of the enemy team? What is it about that team that makes it more social? I’ve seen people discuss this so many times already and it just always sounds like they want easy matches that feel almost equivalent to a lobby of bots…which is me exaggerating that because I know that’s not what you want, but that’s how it will come across to most people.
The reality is that you’re better than your friends, and too have balanced matches you will get mixed lobbies of skills. Its also a reality that you will always be the player at the top of the scoreboard, always be the player with the best stats etc etc. Your friends will always be struggling unless you actually intervene and build them up. If they’re your friends and you see that much of a struggle, why not help them get better? It’s always satisfying to see improvement for players, and in a social setting where you aren’t constantly seeing this ginormous red derank bar that’s -Yoink!- you off…they can learn at their pace alongside a good friend.
Its not telling them to take the game to some extreme seriousness…but if they’re just always feeling bad being the weak link of the chain…well man they gotta at least try and understand why. It being social doesn’t mean everyone in the lobby just cares 0. There’s still a winning team and still a losing team. Only very select game modes that are full of chaos and craziness hold the matches where the outcome is very less cared about.
Did you just not read what I wrote? Your friends are choosing SBMM over you. How are you not getting this? Your friends can literally replicate the experience of the bottom 10% of players, and they’re actively choosing the opposite. They’re choosing the feature that you want to get rid of for the bottom 10% of players
The problem with that is the rule sets are different and some game types don’t exist there. BR starts with no motion sensor is a big deal.
I won’t say the system in place now is perfect, but I think it suits the majority of players and that’s all they can do.
Taking SBMM away will almost definitely leave the bottom of the player base in a situation where they get nothing but stomped every game. That probably results in them leaving the game. With them gone, you now have a new group at the bottom of the player base, and then they continously get stomped. And if they leave? We do it again, over and over. Am I being a little dramatic…yes, but you get the point.
Isn’t that what the bots are for?
We played fine together in H3 with no SBMM (same friends) then when infinite comes out with SBMM they don’t want to play with me. Because of SBMM we don’t randomly get people their skill we just get mine all the time and H3 that never happened cause it was random so times we got pro’s and sometimes you got average joe’s.
Yup. 343 seems to think it’s fun to ruin players’ ability to play together for fun
Why game modes like BTB and Fiesta need to be tryhard sweat-fests if there’s a single onyx in the room is beyond me. It’s a really bad decision from 343.
I feel u bro. I think the best solution is by doing wat Halo 5 did or Make it like 2 games r random (doesn’t count the team skill) and then on 3rd game (Sbmm) and repeat the same process.
That’s a legit idea I like it
If you are looking to role people, couldnt you and your friends be playing against bots as well?
We aren’t trying to roll people we are trying to get a mix of sweaty and chill games not just constantly sweating it being random doesn’t always mean you’re get dogwater players on the other team.
Tell me you don’t understand anything about this topic, without telling me you don’t understand anything about this topic.

“Screw you OP you are too good so you and your friends deserve to suffer. Oh poor baby wants to play with friends lol.”
I swear, gamers have changed.
