Like the topic title says, I don’t get the point of medals. So what, you did a certain thing, good for you, but why does it matter? Does it get you extra exp. for it, req points, or even bragging rights for longer than the 45 seconds in between games? It’s like an achievement that doesn’t get you gamer points. Someone PLEASE tell me why the -Yoink!- you need to get these things! I don’t get why we need to take out a perfectly good carnage report for these, I like the H5 carnage report, I hope they don’t ruin it for these.

If you get a Perfection or Naire, you can take a screenshot after the game.
Medals are just a fun way to reward the player and say, “hay! Look at the shiny thing you got! Pretty good game bruv!”

Well I am glad to see some one who likes gamer score as I take pride in mg Halo gamer score and I always try to work on it. But medals are kinda similar to it. Sure they aren’t worth points but they are still fun to earn IMO. I was pretty excited when I got my first fast ball medal, kill a Spartan with just the impact of a thrown grenade, along with when I got my first killtrocity, or and overkill on tyrant in FFA. I think they add some fun and pride to the games.

Halo 5 must be your first Halo game.
They’re fun and make you feel rewarded. It also has me trying different things.

I enjoy getting them, when they introduce the feature to see medals after the game it will be good to look at, additionally it is very satisfying to get difficult to achieve medals*.
*Just to say something more interesting than the same old response to the OP, I thought I might add that the “low value” medals, such as distraction, team takedown, brawler, et cetera, do not at all subtract from the value of high value medals, such as multikills and killing frenzies and greater.

Then why is the purpose of post game medals confusing to you? You’ve always had access to them in the post game carnage report until now in H5. That has been a constant feature in every halo game that people really liked but was removed from Halo5 with no explanation why. Halo 5 should have launched with post game medals.
I got an instant hard on when I got my first Pounder Medal. So I guess you could say the medals are there to keep us excited about halo…
Medals are good only if they work… the Halo 5 medal system on halowaypoint is far less impressive than the one from Halo 4… in Halo 4, they had their own stats app (which you can still view on waypoint), and was absolutely gorgeous. It broke down CSR across all playlists against all your friends, showed weapon stats and medals across different gametypes and maps, and also incorporated the fileshare system into one comprehensive package.
