I DON'T GET ONE THING

How come we can play as flood in the Infinity but not as Elites? After all, it’s a training facility. I’m no elite fan or anything, but that doesn’t make much sense to me.

Hit boxes

Because 343 hates fun

They want to focus on the Spartans for this game. They can barely fit all the Spartan armor on the disc as it is, I don’t even want to know how much more room Sangheili armor would take up. But I’m sure they’ll return in Halo 5/6.

Humans can be flood too. Infected human= still a part of human.

Seeing as how the War Games deck is a training simulation, it does make sense that we are fighting Flood. We’ve had plenty of time and training fighting the Covenant. Almost 30 years. The new S IV’s need to know how to deal with the Flood should they return.

> Humans can be flood too. Infected human= still a part of human.

Lol, but you’re missing the whole point. 343 cut off the elite community and replaced it with the flood as a gametype.

It would take too much time and money. They also wanted to focus on Spartans.

As for Flood, that’s their choice. Flood would make “Infection/Living Dead” a lot more fun and interesting, while Elites to Halo 4 gametypes as of right now, wouldn’t (because the game is centred around Spartans).

That’s not what I’m asking.

Once a spartan, and now, a flood spartan! This could be training for the worst case scenario like bing prepared for the next flood attack. The flood attack was unexpected in Halo CE.

Yes it is, you just don’t know it.

Didn’t they say we could play as prometheans? Or am I just imagining that part?

Canonologically. The Elites are against us in Halo 4. The only reason we could play them in Reach is well because it was a prequel and The Elite player/fanbase/community grew after Halo 2. I’m sure Elites will be playable in Halo 5 or 6. I’m hoping so anyway.

Non-canon DUH!

Because it’s a simulation deck, there’s only so much you can holographically project on someone. Anyways, I’m sure training to fight the flood would be a lot more important than fighting Elites.

Spartan hit boxes and flood hit boxes are the same, seeing as how the “flood” are nothing more than reskinned Spartans.

If they were to include elites in MM, they would need to code not only the skin, but the movement, a secondary load out system, assassination animations, hit boxes, and come up with a canonical reasoning for Spartans to be acting as elite stand in’s during the simulation.

So in the end, it was probably seen as more prudent to focus on the Spartans unless of course you just wanted the elites from reach all over again.

  1. They’re Spartans
  2. Hit detection

I don’t see how that didn’t answer your question for canon reasons. As for coding Elites have different hitboxes rather than just different skins harder to code therefore more time. As for what 343i want to do, they want to focus more on the Spartans.

After dealing with the Flood in Halo 3, they want to expose the new.Spartans against them.

Seeing as they had lost about half of a continent to the flood and had it glasses, they would much rather train them then let them go, “Jim! Dude, you really got a bad case of eczema. You should go see a doc-” and get murdered in violent ways.

Also, they’re in space and haven’t finished downloading the updated version of War Games training Sims because they are stuck with internet explorer.

I doubt it was really half a continent, Hood has been known to use hyperbole.
