I bought the campaign and I refuse to pay for the MT so no this is nonsense. 343i are to blame for several reasons:
- They forced a predatory system that is catered to people that can’t help overspending.
- 343I lied about the progression system.
- Lack of content despite delaying the game
- Refusing to delay the game further despite not being ready.
If 343i continues to go down this route they may end up killing the IP and this is proven in the fact that entire franchise has seen massive decline in population.
If a game dies then that is going to get less people spending money on it because there would be less people to brag about their content with. I did the ‘math’ and 343i are poorly managing the game. The fact is on Steam it’s gone from 272k to 2.5k in barely a few months which is ridiculous and no competent developer would say that is a ‘success’.
There is no way 2.5k people are going to make the difference in money if 343i are losing 99% of their population and they have been vague on the Xbox numbers but the fact is the charts for Halo Infinite on active player base is going down all the time.
Yeah, it’s pretty messed up that most of these kids/teens that buy from the shop think that is a lot more important then 343 creating a quality type of game.
Seriously, look at all the posts about the shop. “Ooh, what is 343 adding next”.
Before anyone makes a reply to me. Money isn’t the issue, it’s the vary poor quality work put into this game that even Bungie with their shop that players can acquire items with (Bright Dust) is a hell of a lot better work, and that’s just cosmetic items. I don’t see myself wasting money on a company not really trying to make a game.
Xbox and halo is just a fraction, not even a fraction of Microsoft Users. In the real world nobody cares if Halo is a good game or not. Let alone MS’s investors. Halo will have no impact on MS stock price.
Even the whales in this game are shrimps in the ocean
Typically it’s a tiny % (10% or so) of gamers that buy the stupid cosmetics. Don’t blame all of us.
Nobody is playing this game.
Perfectly stated my fellow Spartan. The success of anything is specifically driven and tied directly to the $ that it’s producing. The game is in a healthy state and it will continue to be because of the revenue that it’s generating.
It’s still their job to satisfy the majority of their consumer-base. If 10% are buying items in the store, that’s still 90% of consumers who are disgruntled, annoyed at the direction the features of games are heading. (note: I pulled those numbers out of my -Yoink!-)
If they bring consumer-base up to even 50% satisfaction, that maintains business for future products; revenue would likely increase.
A single whale is worth 20 thousand regular users. This is their target. Most people do not infact make purchases.
F2P live services are specifically designed to target whales.
