1st i would like to say i don’t care there are alot of threats on this subject
Why do i not like perks?
i do not like perks because, in halo (not counting reach) the game was balanced and fun. everyone was equal, witch is on of the reasons the game took skill.
with br battle’s where the best aim and strafe would win (unless some uberhost adventage was in play).
if you introduce perks, the player will not be equal. that ain’t halo like.
if it happends to be small things like
extra ammo,
slightly higher jumping to makes jumps easier (not getting up on places you can get another way)
or sliggtly faster moving while holding the objective.
i wont have a big issue with that, i rather not see it at all but ok.
if its for a couple of playlist like action sack. perk team slayer. or something that
be fine to, i just won’t play that playlist.
but if its like in reach
sprinting,
evade,
armour lock,
hologram enc…
yes that would be a mess up.
there are polls that show that 80% is against perks in halo. witch give’s me hope
also here is an the article on perks
edit:
the whole point is, with perks player do not spawn equal thats a fact.
second off, I totally agree with you. Halo 1, 2, & 3 were awesome because you had to earn your kills, not have the help of the AA’s. When everyone started on an even playing field, it made the game more interesting, tougher, and it made the kills more fulfilling.
I would learn to deal with it if they did but I’m not up for it.But let’s get real. If they are in Halo 4 as of now get used to the idea cuz it isnt changing.

Everyone had the same AA’s, therefore it was still perfectly even.

exactly
thats what was great about halo
that was what made to game
noob vs noob friendly
avarge vs avarge friendly
good vs good friendly
and pro vs pro friendly
not noob vs pro friendly though but you get the idea
Halo has always appealed to me because every player spawned identically, allowing individual skill to shine through. There were no crutches to aid those who made bad decisions; they were punished for their actions. Reach did away with this with loadouts (sprint away from battles you can’t win, AL to survive an attack you shouldn’t, jetpack to gain instant map control) and Halo 4 seems to be headed down a similar road with loadouts/perks/whatever the case may be. I’m not a fan of these additions.

I completely agree with you. Perks = unbalancing, regardless of how much work and effort may be put into making them balanced. They do not belong in a HALO game.
If the perks offer even the slightest tiniest advantage for veteran players then they are a bad idea.
If they affect ‘the way the game plays’ I can 100% guarantee that within a few weeks of the game’s release some BK will have figured a way to totally and utterly exploit it.
Most Halo veterans don’t but Armour Abilities and perks are probably here to stay unfortunately. Hopefully whatever Halo 4 does isn’t as poorly balanced as Halo 3’s/Reach’s equipment/Armour Abilities.
