I might be one of the few, but I really dislike this map. The wide open layout and odd cover make this map a team-shot wet dream. Idk, I like the symmetry, but it just feels too open to me.
I am sorry to hear that. I like it though.
With every day that goes by I get to be less of a fan of symmetrical arena maps like Monolith. Everything about their design forces motion when I prefer not to move, rewards teamwork when I seldom go into matchmaking with friends, and just generally demands a mindset that I don’t have. Same thing on Solace, along with too many power weapons. Same thing, to a lesser extent, on Skyline and even Haven, the staple H4 multiplayer map. I’d much rather play on a map like Landfall or Complex where there’s no predictable pattern of movement, no single hot zone, and plenty of places to go if you want to slow down the pace of play.

I love skyline, but mostly for doubles. Landfall is probably my least favorite map because the strongest point (the garage) is a corner camp fest. Yuck.
Imo halo 4 really struggled with map design. My hope is that halo 5 will get this right.

The Guardians beta certainly pointed toward a return to the primacy of conventional arena-style maps, so while this bodes ill for me personally, you might be very happy. Empire and Truth were so frighteningly like the crucible of Halo 3 team slayer, with the added nightmare of crazy motion mechanics, that I nearly burst into tears on more than one occasion. Such is life. Such is Halo.
I’ve had more than one bad experience involving me going +25 or better and losing slayer matches on Monolith.
I think it’s a fine looking map, I just never was able to put in the dozens and dozens of games necessary to learn how to properly play it. Maps like Haven I know like the back of my hand, but a lotta these DLC maps never got played nearly as much as they could’ve. Pity
I loved Landfall, same with Skyline and Shatter. Harvest, Wreckage, and Daybreak were also very good, so the only ones I never got to play my fill of were Monolith, Vertigo, Perdition, and Outcast.
I could really play H4 DLC maps for weeks straight though if they brought them back. Love all those maps
I can’t really judge the map since I played it too rarely…it like it from the looks though

They are very popular in the mcc
Love this map!!! Great layers… at first I didn’t like it, but once you learn all the areas for cover and how the map works… this is a GREAT map!

*Sigh… I just can’t seem to get there.
