Today while playing a solo duo controller match I randomly “lost” aim assist. For me as a PC player the key give away is the right thumbstick feels and responds more like a mouse then a controller. So I thought to myself what would happen if I changed the sensitivity settings for mouse and keyboard? To my surprise it worked. My controller became way more controllable. However the lowest sensitivity settings for M&KB is a tad higher then medium controller settings. (Though that could be my mouse and not the game.)
Something, a bug most likely, is causing the game to pick up my M&KB randomly mid match. With the only fix being a hard reset of the game. Now I should note that once I launch Infinite I always unplug my M&KB. And I always start the game with my controller. So how the game is registering my M&KB is beyond me.
I should also note that this issue explains the problem on PC and not Xbox. I also play on my Series X on occasion and when I “lose” aim assist on console it feels more like my response curve is stuck on max and not like a mouse.
I never see the cursor appear either. But I do notice when I die that the buttons to swap between teammates are keyboard binds rather then the bumpers on my controller. Which to me is another giveaway.
As to the micro vibrations this would make sense. Except my mouse and keyboard are both unplugged from my PC when I play Halo.
Game might be detecting the software used by your mouse even though its not plugged in, Logitech, SteelSeries, ICUE ?
Does it happen if you play with mouse plugged in?
Might even be un plugging mouse is causing software on pc to try detect mouse & that might be causing game to bug out?
If you play on Steam you can switch to big picture mode (its like a console UI) you can launch game from big picture using controller, some say that AA is more consistent via big pic mode.
