I came here to sign up for the Halo insider program for PC, I had to create an Xbox account and link it. I do not own an Xbox, and never have, so I’ve never had an account previously. I used my existing Microsoft email account to sign up for it. I was never prompted to create an account name, and when I arrived at the waypoint login, had this account name. I can’t find any way to change it, and I’m not sure why I have it anyway. This account has no stats for any Halo games, but does this mean that someone has used my email address to create an Xbox account before now? Can I change the name to something…not this?
Nevermind…i figured it out, i guess it’s all through xbox.com and they just assign you a random name when you first create an account.
