I could stand the terrible Matchmaking if...

Matchmaking is a joke in The Master Chief Collection. There’s just no doubt about that, and life goes on. Eventually, maybe, 343i will fix it and we’ll all be happier people. The thing is, it could probably be a bit easier to handle, or tolerate, if the freaking Party system wasn’t an even bigger joke. It’s almost laughable that you can, for whatever reason, keep your Party together after you leave a Custom Game, but trying to do the same thing in Matchmaking results in people getting dropped randomly, having to go through 17-step processes to try and get out of a Party they aren’t in, only to have either the Join or Invite option just flat-out fail.

Fix the damn Party system, 343i. This is something that never should have been broken in the first place.

I remember when Halo 2 matchmaking was THE BEST.

Me and my matchmaking buddies currently have a 4 part approach to joining up in parties.

1.) Try to join via Halo MCC (Hit X, press A on designated party leader, Join Party)

If that doesn’t work (if the attempt fails, or if the option isn’t allowed) then…

2.) Try to join via Xbox Live party system (Hit Home button, go to Friends or Party, and hit Join Game)

If that doesn’t work (nothing happens), then…

3.) Quit the MCC (Home button > Start > Quit) and reboot the game. I imagine if you have a disk copy, you would pull the disk out and put it back in to accomplish the same thing.

If that still doesn’t work…

4.) Quit the MCC, and then reboot your Xbone. Try again, starting at #1.

Do these steps, together with all your party members, and you’ll be back together within about 5 minutes at the most.

But you’re right - it is excessive and annoying.

This so much. When Halo 2 came out it was terrible. Most people on here don’t remember that because they were 6-10 most likely.

Halo 2 friends sytem was amazing and flawless. Xbox party system which was def inspired by h2 friend system is by far the worst thing ever to happen to xbox. No more proximity voice, search rumble pit to find out other seven in a party together to gaurentee one persons victory just flat out stupid …,so all the fruits could talk to eachother while playing different games fantastic

This is for support towards the game not discussion.
