I completely Understand why people Leave Matches

To be fair, he sounded bored a lot of the time.
As if he was falling asleep while voicing his lines.

Well, most people leave match because it’s a mess.
The lack of synchronism, the delay, the absurdity, the boredom, the servers, the hopelessness.
See, there are games where you literally can’t kill anyone and you die with the first bullet.
Your games end -27 k/d and you get outraged and angry and curse this game.

This is noticeable from the beginning of the game, and after 15 seconds you already know that you are going to get angry, bored and outraged.
So you totally refuse to play that game and walk away. The problem in infinite is much bigger than in previous Halos. These last few days have been very frustrating for me. Impossible to play a decent game.
In Europe halo matchmaking has always been bad (I’ve been playing halo for 12 years) but this time they have overcome it.
So I will leave the games as many times as I want as long as they don’t fix this mess and if I get banned, I will take the opportunity to leave this game forever.

I don’t quit ranked games out of respect for the team, but I don’t even play ranked anymore because of the disaster it is for me and the rest of the team. Sorry for auto-translation.

How would you feel about Apple telling you to restart your iphone “every hour or so”?

I don’t think we should go down that rabbit hole and allow 343 to get away by just telling us to reboot once per hour.

It was a fix that I found to be useful until the devs actually fix the problem itself.
Sorry for sharing my wisdom on how you can get around this issue.

I just don’t see 343 putting any priority on something that can be fixed with CTRL-ALT-DEL

Why the hell should I stay in a game when my melee is broken? That isn’t my fault, it is the developer’s fault.

Melee is broken because of Desync yes, but mostly because of how they made collision detection different in this game.
Soft collision detection lets characters slide and nudge one another; passing into their models a little.
Previous games had Hard collision detection, which results in you actually stopping normally when you bump into someone.

They likely changed how player collision works so that grappling and thrustering doesn’t stop you suddenly when you hit a tiny obstacle, isntead sliding around the obstacle.
Unfortunately, this had the effect of letting players clip into one another and strike a hitbox they shouldn’t normally be able to.
This results in you being back-slapped while facing someone. Their arm clipped into you, and when the coordinates for the damage output were laid out, they hit the backside hitbox.

None of that answered my post. Why should I stay in a game when the game does not function as intended? If they can not design a working melee, it is not my fault when I want to leave out of frustration.

I merely explained why the melee was broken.

All they need to do is increase the collision to be still soft-collision so it doesn’t screw up thrusters and grapple, but they need to make it solid-enough that you don’t pass through the spartan you are facing and strike their back for an insta-kill from the front.

I guess they need to factor in the direction of the melee attack, and not only the final hit location?

Could work.
They might not have to adjust collision that way and it would then fix the issue without making mobility annoying with the grapple.

If [object colliding with] == [another spartan] then [don’t use “soft collision” at all]

Sounds like a few line of code could have taken care of that - if only someone had cared about it in the first place

I recommend 343 makes it mandatory for employees to watch ABBA’s “Little Things” video. It shows the amazing things high school kids can do. Maybe this will cause a little inspiration for the grown ups at 343

My personal experience is that most people who leave a match early should receive those cat ears and it should be mandatory for them to wear those cat ears

Remember the name of the Bond girl in “Goldfinger”? Apparently we are not allowed to say her name on Xbox or we face a communication ban. In any case she seems to have much more of a spine/backbone than those who quit early out of a ranked match in Halo Infinite.

I already said that I never leave a ranked game because I respect the team. I don’t play ranked anymore precisely because of that.
But social? I will leave it as many times as I feel that it is absurd to continue playing because of the problems that we all already know. I still hold too much.
If it wasn’t because I love Halo I would have uninstalled it the first day.

Regarding the cat ears… that is a cheap shot. LOL

In my experience people leave because of challenges, both in BTB and standard playlists. Bots are a much appreciated feature. Only time I feel bots are to and disadvantage is slayer modes as they are much worse at killing than the average player.

By now it should be a well known fact what the situation with the game is.

If someone still makes the choice to play they should be well aware of what to expect.
There is no reason for anyone to be surprised and suddenly quit because any of what they experience really is “unexpected” in this game right now.
