> I don’t think it’s OP as much as I think it’s just annoying. The vast majority of players I see who use it will go into AL right in the open just to delay their death. I’ve already gotten rid of their shields, there’s no cover anywhere for them to run to, and most of the time they don’t announce that I’m shooting at them. People who use it “properly” (i.e. going into AL when a rocket is fired at them) I actually don’t mind all that much. Sure, it’s aggravating that they made me waste ammo on them, but they used it the way it was intended to be used.

I would suggest spawn traps and banshee flips bombs are annoying as well,it appears that the most leathel tactics draw the contempt of alot of players, perhaps that is the answer to my own question.

Now, in order to put this into perspective, you can not crouch shot, throw, nor break the block until the blockee stops his defenses. This is essentially a “get out of jail free card”. This is what Armour Lock is effectively doing. What should have been a fatal situation is now easily eluded at a press of a button. It is a “block” button with out a counter “throw” option.

The answer to the “throw” has been “damaging” the Armour Lock ability meter; by putting damage on an Armour Locked opponent, you can essentially “throw” him out of the “block” state he is in. Which in turn “balances” Armour Lock.

i see your point and viewing things in a simple manner is generally an alright thing to do but somethings you just cannot view simply and have to look at it in a more indepth manner.
the only reason i can see why the more competitive players don’t abuse armour lock is because it slows down gameplay and they want it to be more fast paced then slow paced.

Game speed is one of the negatives AL that is hard to deny, although I wonder what the total amount of time in a game that a armor locker could delay a game with the use of the ability?I would suggest that matbe a total of perhaps a minute total in optimal conditions(ie it is used to delay death by 5 secounds every time).I would like to point out that delay of game does not bother the better players when in objective games they hold objectives to pulvarize their opponents.
> AL never works for me.
For me,60% of the time it works every time.LOL just kidding,on a serious note it took me a long time to learn to use it to its fullest potential.
to keep it simple my basic issue with AL is this…players that tend to use it are the weakers players. I find this to be because they are not so worried with getting kills (because they struggle already) but more concerned and content with just not dying as much. Maybe instead of -15 they go -10. So my actual isssue with it is that these weaker players use it when they are outplayed and depend on another teammate or enemey (if playing multi team) to kill the person that is after them. I could elaborate more but this is the foundation for my frustrations with AL. If it didn’t exist I could kill the weak and move on to bigger and better battles instead of waiting for a AL to finish and then being grenaded or shot from behind just to give someone else a double kill. Am I alone with this thought? Let me know

I have found that I give equal weight to killing and dying as they both decide the outcome of the game, and exploiting your chosen AA to the benefit of your team or yourself I thought was the point.A person may sprint away from an AL or jetpack away ect in order to save themselves and often do.
I don’t have a problem to wait to get my kill when someone goes into AL but I’ve got a problem if someone use it in CQC. You will never know if someone has AL or not. If he has no you can go into melee range and finish your enemy but if he has that thing, he can easily abuse it and kill you.
> I don’t have a problem to wait to get my kill when someone goes into AL but I’ve got a problem if someone use it in CQC. You will never know if someone has AL or not. If he has no you can go into melee range and finish your enemy but if he has that thing, he can easily abuse it and kill you.
In your opinion,if somebody uses their chosen AA to kill or live it is an abuse?Do you hold yourself to the same standards?

Gaming isn’t a kill or die situation. Rules that you make for yourself and that are made in the community make games much more enjoyable, at least for me. That’s the problem of todays communities. So the best solution to AL would be to take it completely out of matchmaking but 343i won’t do that anyway so people complain about that stuff on the forums.

What if the vast majority either do not care or do not agree that it should not be removed?

The vast majority is not always right, actually they are rarely right but that’s not the point. Do you think that the majority would even care if there would be big changes in matchmaking? No they wouldn’t. As long as they have fun in a game, they’ll keep playing it.
> i take advantage of it when i can, but to take full advantage of it requires a capable team. and that is something i almost never have with me.
Same with JP, HG, and AC.

Fair point that most will not care, but if changes are made, would you agree that it in general, changes to an exsisting game can causes more damage to population then leaving it the same?

Well “technically” during war shouldn’t you have the better advantage? So let’s use me as an example. [I love the AL BTW] Say i’m being attacked by a jetpack and sprint, i go into AL and them being so idiotic get close. So BAM i Emp both and finish both off with a double bash.I pretty much just saved my life, It’s useful and efficient.

I use it.Im asking why people who beleive it is overpowered,do not use it but seem to have no problem exploiting other aspects of the game without feeling like hypocrites.

Indeed,a very well scripted Question.

Sometimes you have to push something forward. Reach has lost a fairly big amout of people due the AA’s and all that stuff. You can’t know if it will be a flop or not before they didn’t do that.
Some people will leave, some will come back but I don’t think it will be a too big amout of people that leave or join Reach after a change.

Reach is not even close to a flop,it just does have the ability to have the market share it had in 1,2 and 3.There are too many games of high quality and great gameplay, that is not opinion, that is fact.Another factor is its one of the few that only resides on one console, expansion could help and so could putting out a product more often than they have.4 will do very well,as did reach and ODST and 3 as did 2 and 1 they are all great games.
