AL rewards you with an advantage without putting effort into gaining the advantage=decreased skill gap for AL. hence the repeating of my question and the above statement

but it isn’t permanent, when the timer runs out he is then vulnerable again.

and as i said, explain how it gives the user an advantage just by pressing a button.
if a player doesn’t put effort in then all he is doing by using armour lock is putting himself at more of a diss-advantage then other armour abilites do.
Wait a minute, I thought you hated AL Haunted.

it absorbs every amount of damage and thus erases all the effort another player put into gaining his advantage (power weapons for example)
so by choosing armor lock and then pressing a button the AL gains an advantage without effort= decreased skill gap
if you dont understand it now ill stop right here
> The fact that everyone can use it does not make it a good game mechanic. Such “logic” does not work out too well.
Absolutly correct, but it does allow everybody to have the same advantages making it fair.
Bloodguard and huanted you are taking over my thread for your debate.

so why on earth would a person keep choosing to attack a person in armour lock, thats how the effort is being removed, not the armour ability but player decision.
the player who took the effort to get the power weapons and map controll will wait for the player to come out of armour and then use the acquired power weapon to gain the kill and point for his team.
omg no, his effort wasn’t wasted after all!!

Ive been softening him up on it LOL,few more weeks and he will be converted.(no he wont,JK)

sorta, this would be true if everyone spawned with it regardless of the loudout picked.

A well rounded team will have a combination of AA for differant applications. If everybody used AL that would be boring, its one of many really cool additions to halo,AA have added so much more than they have detracted.

EXAMPLE: nonAL kills a player who had one rocket left (by outplaying him you know). nonAL shoots rocket at player B not knowing he has AL. B locks and denies the effort of the player that outplayed another player for the rocket. what now?
is it yet again a really small chance that this happens? if so why does this change it?

well then you should see the problem here, as players can spawn with a counter to almost everything on the map that players have to work to achieve.
seems kind of unfair that after fighting others and securing map control to get the rocket launcher it is countered by another player changing his loudout.

Somewhere 3 or so pages back I responded to your response,it got lost in the pages of debate between you and haunted,if you get a chance, take a look.
> > > There many fine points in your post but there is one that I would like to single out as the most important to debate and that is the point you added at the end as a edit.My question is this, are those the same players that will benfit from the skill gap the most?

>
> If I accept your premise that it was implemented for the specific purpose of catering to the less skilled player(I dont, but for the sake of debate I will)a few questions come to mind.First one is do you have an interveiw with any of developers saying anything to that effect?Lastly do you think that it would be a good idea for a publisher to specificlly tailor a game for the most skilled player, making it harder for the other 95% of players to compete? As a side note,I ran a thread on multiple forums to come to some sort of consensus on how many good/skilled players there actually are within the reach community, the result was about 5% of the population. That is how I arrived at 95% of the population being considered the unskilled players.(that is not my opinion,it is the opinion of those that have presented themselves as skilled due to arena ranking, mlg participation K/D,win/loss etc)
aight first ill answer your questions and then ill give my view on why reach was created how it was created
1 nope all personal opinion
2 it did work for H3 didnt it? im not saying it was godly (derankers, 2nd accounts) but there are still people playing it
3 my opinion differs there. you cant just say 5% are good the rest is rubbish. in my opinion you have to make a separition (for EXAMPLE: rubbish, bad, average, above average, good, very good, superior, semi pro, pro)
