I just got the game today and I’m playing on Xbox one on disk version of the game Region -EU
When the first mission finishes loading I press A on my controller to Continue but then I get a black screen and the game quits and returns me to Home. How can I play the campaign ?
Exact same issue here, I’ve tried to start the campaign 6 times now and every time it crashed at the point the original posted noted. I even tried a hard reset of the console and that failed. Interestingly I tried moving it from my external hard drive to my internal one and it always fails with a generic error message at 8%. So I’m going to delete it and reinstall it to my internal. I’ll update on any success. By the way I’m running the game on a day one original Xbox One if that helps.
Got it working. Reinstalling on a different hard drive failed. But I then reinstalled it again and declined the update when it asked. It now let’s me actually play the game. So delete any updates and you should be able to play, which is pretty appalling if you ask me as it means you have to play the game with the console in offline mode. Let’s hope this is fixed soon.

I’ve got same black screen too, when i start 1st missionm. Have installed latest Nvidia drivers, but that doesn’t help.
Has anyone got this working besides reinstalling game and not accepting any updates ? I don’t even know if i got any updates, since when i was installing game i didn’t see any question about updating the game.
I do hope i don’t have to ask my money back if game is unplayable.
I also have latest Windows 10 Creators Update too.
Figures it’s Nvidia’s drivers, with latest drivers i have black screen, but with few months older drives game is playable, darn Nvidia.

I getting the same issue with Xbox one version is there any fix or reply from 343 around this. The game is unplayable.
This sort of thing happens to me too I try to play the Second mission but it won’t unlock I’ve played the First mission Twice and it Still won’t unlock the Second mission does anyone know how fix this/have done it?
Edit: also have it downloaded digitally through Xbox Game Pass

Beat it on legendary mode and it’ll unlock the second mission. Just watched my bf do it. He was getting pissed having the same issue, changed the difficulty to legendary, beat it and it continued on to the second mission
Hey Guys,
I have the same issue now 3 years later. Got the game for fun but now I am unsure. For me when I skip or watch the first cut scene it goes into a black screen with sound and a cursor. I have to force shut the game to get out. Has any new solutions arisen?
