I’ve made this forum just to show you guys a post I made. This post shows how I truly feel about the Halo community after years of experience on the Halo Waypoint forums and watching YouTube videos, and looking through many comments. Here’s what I wanted to say. This was a post from another forum.
From the forum: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/29568daf8cd14083bd1b70a810bf3581/topics/master-chief-armour-design-is-awful/d2b82adb-4b02-43bd-95db-ec5f01c90245/posts?page=8
See, this is what I hate in the Halo community. I haven’t posted on these forums since May because of such childish things.I don’t know if people hated the design of the Chief in Halo 2 when it was revealed because it was more complex than Halo CE’s, or just because it was different. I definitely know that people weren’t fond of his design in Halo 4, because it was different. Now, after all the people complaining and whining about his new armor through Halos 4 and 5, 343 finally decides to change it to appease those demands, and give the Chief a look that is very similar to his classic Halo 2 and 3 armor. Even then, people STILL, can’t be pleased. You could say it’s 343’s fault, and in a way it is, but here’s what I think. This community is filled with so many stuck up jerks that complain about every little thing 343 does, simply because they don’t do exactly what Bungie did, becuase they were simply the creators. Yes, we have things like SPV3 that simply redo the campaign from Halo CE, and even then, there are things people will complain about. I know for a fact that what I’m saying is ridiculous in some way, complaining about complaints, but everyone here has said something rediculous at some point.Sorry for the long post, but I’m just tired of people not being thankful enough. I do accept that there were changes that 343 made that I didn’t like, such as split-screen being taken away, and req-packs, but I just face-palm every time I see something like this, and I facepalmed a lot, as I’ve been here since 2015 (I know there are those that have been here longer.)
Honestly, the Halo community has a difficult, and somewhat unique split, that isn’t found in most other gaming communities.
The IP was handled by two separate studios, and the studios had clear differences in aesthetic and gameplay styles/preferences.
I can’t think of another IP that is in a similar situation.
There are always going to be people who complain regardless of what 343i does because you have effectively two groups which want mutually incompatible things. If this bothers you, you may as well stop visiting Halo community forums because it’s never going to end.

That couldn’t be any more true. This may be the last forum I post on simply because it never ends.
As for the IP thing, I know that Gears of War had a thing like that. Gears of War used to be created by Epic Games, but is now being created by The Coalition. There are many people who really dislike the new Gears of War games, even though I don’t see why. Like they REEAALLY dislike them. The situation is so similar to Halo, that it’s interchangeable.
Also, thanks for being mature with your post. Thankful that if anyone posted something on this forum, it would be you.

Yes, Gears was controlled by separate studios however I believe the series has maintained a fairly consistent aesthetic and gameplay progression among all the titles.
On the other hand, Halo has a very clear dividing line between the Bungie and 343 games with regards to art style and game play mechanics. It could be argued that Reach was a sort of transition title but when people discuss “the original Halo games”, they are referring to Halo 1-3.
You made a thread complaing about another thread complaining and you complain that you hate the halo community because of complaining?
