The hardcore community said, “Give us Halo 3 style play or we will quit, the population will drop, and the world will come to an end.” (Paraphrasing)
343i capitulated and gave us Throwup playlist.
Where are the hardcore? Where is the population explosion? Where is the surge in players?
The population is as bad or worse than before Throwup came online.
Why does anyone think 343i should listen to us ever again? They knew the hardcore community was a tiny minority. They knew what would happen. But they did this exercise to show us that we should just shut the h— up!
PROVE ME WRONG!
Statistics don’t lie.
PROVE ME THE %$#@ WRONG!
They never gave us what we wanted. Nobody wanted Team Throwdown with its bad radar and ordinance drops.
We wanted in game CSR with ranked classic playlists and for them to fix the DMR.
Its too late now though, the population is now down to 43k. This game is dead.
Best playlist around fore sure, but,
I dislike the deluxe settings
I dislike objective gametypes
I dislike the inconsistent connection crap
I dislike no radar for enemies
I dislike that there are so few maps to play slayer on in this playlist.
I dislike the missing of the red death X
I dislike sprint
You’ve got to be kidding me…
Throwdown is a petty attempt to please hardcore fans. Riddled with quitting problems which 343 fail to listen to solutions as well as not having much of a skill gap in the first place due to flinch, no descope, Easy to use BR with recoil and sprint.

Agree, H4 cant be fixed for a classic gametype.

Your ignorance has made me wonder.
The competitive community asked for in-game CSR (on site is a perfect substitute)
Plus an MLG playlist (throwdown was the substitute)
Plus Halo 3 styled gametypes (this has not happened nor will it unless 343i has a serious TU to input original settings for “classic” to come back)
So since the CSR, classic arena ,and a ranked/social playlist split has not come out, there will be no:
-population explosion
-returning competitive players
You just got proved wrong.
plain and simple:
People just love call of duty
few people that complain never even thought playing halo 4 online. same -Yoink- happened to gears 3 everyone cried old school list, when it came, whiners were gone suddenly…
so yeah… CALL OF DUTY IS THE BEST ONLINE MULTIPLAYER GAME EVER CREATED AND PEOPLE LOVE IT TO DEATH!
ps. 0.1% players like competitive settings
They’ve done nothing to cater to hardcore fans. Throwdown in halo 3 never had a huge population ever!

Right, because one playlist (which still isn’t done right) is what we asked for when we said “give us H3 gameplay”
It’s literally like you asking for an apple pie, and me giving you apples.
They are listening to the wrong people.
> They are listening to the wrong people.
They don’t seem to be listening to anyone. If they were to listen to anyone it should be the ones who actually understand the game. Maybe that’s just using too much sense.
Classic settings can pretty much be achieved through halo 4. Removing sprint, from what I understand would actually be pretty simple through a title update. Throwdown doesn’t need PO but it’s there anyway. Furthermore the classic and competative communities are actually two separate beasts that often work together. The classic community wants a classic playlist which is not what throwdown is, and a large part of the competitive community wants a classic competative playlist. Throwdown isn’t that either. Throwdown is a competitive version of infinity slayer, not a competitive version of classic slayer. So many competitive players don’t like it and many classic players also don’t like it for similar reasons on top of the fact that it is competative, which isn’t necissarily what classic players want anyway.
If you ever played halo previous to halo reach or even if you’ve played the classic anniversary playlist from the anniversary edition you would know throwdown is not classic in the least.
343 could have easily fixed this in the first 2 or 3 months of MM. All they needed to do was add a true classic social playlist, and then added a competative one as well.
These communities might indeed be mistaken that they can be the saviors of Halo 4, but that remains to be seen as they have yet to get what they asked for. 343 has snubbed more communities than just the classic and competative though. The Custom/Forge community also has a list of grievances, that is arguably longer and similarly detrimental to game population. Fans of old social playlists like Multi-team and action sack have nothing to play. Some people don’t even mind the idea of infinity that much, but find custom loadouts and PO in their current form to be far too game breaking to be enjoyable.
There are many reasons 343 is failing at Halo 4, and all anyone really got was a Boltshot nerf. I think 343 is just starting to realize the gravity of the situation now, but it may be too late. A title update is not needed to fix everyone’s problems with the game if custom loadouts had forced magnum secondaries and frag grenade types, and PO was either removed or made less game changing and random, I and many others would play infinity slayer a lot more than we do. That was 343’s truely biggest mistake: editing Halo’s core playlist beyond comprehension and offering us no alternative.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate that 343i is starting to work with the competitive community.
That being said, Throwdown is like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound.
There is to much wrong to have it solved with a few settings changes.
They would need to do in game ranks, spreadless BR, 4sk BR, Remove flinch, add descope, toggle for sprint … ect at the BARE minimum.
Even then this isn’t going to bring many people back. The damage has been done. Much like the TU in Reach.
v7 MLG in Reach was fantastic! but it didnt bring many back…
BUT, at least I would finally have fun playing Halo again.
I don’t think anyone outside the MLG community wanted a playlist with no radar.
And I don’t think anyone inside the MLG community wanted a playlist without visible in game ranks.
Throwdown really caters to no one.
What the community wants is a CLASSIC playlist. Throwdown is not classic. It’s MLG.
Notice I said COMMUNITY, not hardcore or competitive community. Players of all skill levels and orientations want classic.
343 is still new to the Halo series. There can be ways they could improve Halo 4. Hopefully they could make Halo 5 more better than 4.
I like how the OP was so confident, then he got instantly destroyed and just never even bothered to respond.
ha
Team Throwdown is one of my favorite playlists to play with my friends. It brings back the old school Halo feel when it is just map control, teamwork, and individual BR work that wins games.
-I hate Deluxe settings
-I hate no Radar. Just because it’s "competitive it doesn’t mean we want no radar(ESPECIALLY JUST RADAR FOR TEAMMATES)
that has literally never existed before and I don’t know where they came up with it. It’s asinine.
-I hate JIP for it
-I wish it had more maps like the majestic maps
-I wish it was Ranked

first off its team throwdown,
secondly, the “hardcore” community never said that it would save halo or boost population…
instead of you looking at it like “the hardcore halo players must be the small minority”… i look at as “throwdown just wasnt enough to make the hardcore players still want to play”
its not rocket science, this game is not like any other halo ever, period. just because you throw a playlist that is supposed to be more competitive into a game that is nothing like the previous ones, doesnt mean everyone that liked previous halos are all of a sudden going to like this one…
tired of hearing all this crap about the “hardcore” community… numbers dont lie, population is decreasing every day, everyone is getting bored with this game, “hardcore” gamers are just the first to get bored…
Even if the game were released as “Halo 4 : The Halo 3 MLG playlist : The Game : Uber competitive settings out of the box Gold Pro 1337 Edition” people would still have complaints. No playlist, game, or amount of tweaking will satisfy everyone.
Except for team throwdown is nothing like h3 style gameplay. It still has halo 4’s horrible sprint/base speed, aim assist, bullet magnetism. And then there is deluxe settings that are an abomination, and I dont think i ever asked for a mlg playlist.
