"I can't play until I get my sniper rifle!"

Personally I’m not that big a fan of the sniper rifle— but I’m even less of a fan of the players who insist that they can’t contribute anything to the team until they get “their” sniper rifle. This often results in a team member wasting the entire game chasing after the person who took “their” sniper rifle. In extreme cases you end up with betrayals and teammate harassing. Sure one shot kills are satisfying, but there are so many other great weapons and vehicles that can be even more effective. So I’d say to the "sniper dependent players— If you can get your sniper rifle, great! If not, use the guns you have and see that there’s a greater contribution from a player more skilled with the load out weapons than the single power weapon that’s better used as bait.

How else am I supposed to be elite spec ops though?

Ha elite spec ops I prefer to be a cooler elite spec ops.

Well of course since those individuals are the best players ever but some how are not good enough to use any other weapon. I hear you on this however this ship has sailed. Every Halo has always had that one guy doing exactly that and there is nothing that can be done about sadly.

I would rather a teammate take my power weapon when I die vs the enemy so it gets used to our advantage. i’m cheap when using power weapons and use the plasma pistol & railgun the most, although I enjoy using the sniper. I have managed to get my rifle from an enemy once but that sheer luck that they stayed put when I respawned and never used it.

Well that’s kinda true. Some players aren’t meant for Warzone and need their favorite weapon so they stay conservative until they get it.

If said teammate is the reason I died, then hell no. I want him to burn.

i rarely see this happen then again i play 97% arena

touche, I have had a couple players persist in trying to get my gun. never been killed by one for that, but they tried hard to get me killed. knock me off of a building to get shot. Slightly off topic…had a sniper the otherday knock me out of the base opening to get blasted by a ghost so he could have a good place to shoot.

Good man, there…share the power!

When I die try to call out if I drop something good, or leave a gungoose intact, so “we” can use it as opposed to our opponents.

The snipper is so operator though, maaaaan.

Depends on the situation. Afk players aren’t great but if the player is trying to take the sniper back then it’s one less sniper to worry about. Not all the vehicles, weapons are worth the risk using in every situation in Warzone due to the limited use but I will steal enemy REQ’s whenever possible if I feel that it can help the team then use my own REQ’s later. If it’s in BTB it’s best to get rid of the sniper as quick as possible, as for betraying…there not worth the hassle but some do kind of deserved to be killed if they did decide to do something stupid like using the Warthog with the turret as a taxi just to steal both the Gun-goose and Camouflage at the start of the game then deciding to drive the gun-goose when there using the active- cameo…makes me want to facepalm when I see that happen and I’ve seen players do it often and there putting their team at a disadvantage, being selfish.

But how else will I get my Cod Hardscopes and quickscopes, the guy with the Sniper has HACKS.

I can’t say I’ve ever been killed for a power weapon, but to be honest if I see a team mate go for sniper or rockets I’ll generally just stand back and let them have it, unless they’ve proven to be completely incompetent with it in the past.

I prefer to get kills with the pistol or BR, because it’s more satisfying. That little pop sound when you headshot someone feels so much better than a triple kill with the rocket launcher.

My general philosophy is that as long as the power weapons are in my team’s hands, I’m happy. I generally only pick them up when my team mates are ignoring them and making us vulnerable

Oh man I’d laugh my -Yoink- off hearing those kids whining about needing their pro MLG-1337 sniper rifle. I’d Spartan Charge them and block their shots the rest of the game.

They should play warzone, they can earn as meny snipers as they want.

I always call out a dropped power weapon. no sense in letting a Spartan laser, sniper rifle or something that can help us win instead of possibly losing if Warden Eternal can be taken down with it.

I remember awhile ago back on halo 3 in the pregame lobby, someone was going on how the sniper was theirs and all this other stuff. So the slayer match on Valhalla began, I ran got the sniper then got in a banshee and dive bombed into my team. Of course I got booted but it was so fun and worth it. But with halo 5 I dont know the feel of this game is so different that trying to get back at people like that is not even worth it.

When I run out of reqs and I have crappy stuff I Usually use the sniper rifles I have and snipe from one of the bases because I don’t know what else to do.

A lot of good Spartans in this thread. Glad to see many sharing the power for the better of their teams.

Just to clarify, my initial post about “sniper addicts” was specifically directed at Arena and Big Team Battle.
