I can't play any Halo titles offline?

Halo games that I bought repeatedly over the past 20 years and could play without an internet connection suddenly becomes unplayable offline?? Are you kidding me??? Sounds like a recipe for a class-action lawsuit.

bruh I bought Diablo 2 like 5 times. it was the only way to get D1 for a minute
best you can do is emu late or get hold of the console

I’m confused, Halo Infinite is only playable with an internet connection, but the other titles are still playable, some even have their servers up for another 2 weeks yet.

I just checked my Halo 3 disk and it booted right up. Same with the Reach disk. They work on the 360 at least.

I’m not sure how a lawsuit would be appropriate though.

You need to make the xbox your playing on your home console in settings.

I was talking about Halo MCC. I tried to play the campaign offline and it wouldn’t even let me.

I have the Series S and the Series X. I make one my home console and it disables it on the other console. It’s so freaking stupid!

Yeah, the reason for that is that MCC has been completely overhauled in the sense that it is not even the same game that it originally launched as on disc.

It has 600% more assets than it originally had and due the the bug ridden launch of the initial MCC build 343 essentially had to rebuild the game from scratch.
If you were one of the early players to own MCC then games such as ODST were given out to those players entirely free, even reach for that matter but I can’t be sure.

You need to download the overhaul update which is around 100gb.

If you own a digital copy then an internet connection is required to detect that you in fact own a licence to that game.

But if you have a disc, you need to update, there is no other way around it I’m afraid.

They’re denying us the right to play the game, that we all bought and paid for, without an internet connection. As a buyer who pays the developer/seller money to own a game, the seller basically took your money without letting you play the game you own the way you want to play it. If I don’t want to update the game, it’s my choice. If I want to play the game anywhere I want on my laptop without an internet connection, that’s also my choice. They’re denying us those choices on a game we own, thus violating the buyer/seller contract.

Honestly didn’t even know you responded, my apologies.

Just booted up MCC offline on both Xbox One (both 2013 and Model S using my original CD) and PC, booted up campaigns in all 6 games without issue. There was a slight boot time difference due to the game trying to connect to servers.

Little side bar as well, but MCC also features LAN connection for all of its online functionality.

They’re not though. The game is fully playable offline or in LAN config.

I dunno why you’re having problems with it, but I’d recommend getting in touch with support.

Again, this seems to be an issue on your end for whatever reason. Tested it on 3 separate platforms without issues.

Within reason and understanding that if you don’t update you won’t be able to play online.

I think you’re experiencing a problem somewhere within your hardware or software, because again mine works fine offline across three separate instances.

I would get in touch with support if you’re still having these issues 2 months later.
