Sorry about the caps in the title, I don’t know why it did that with caps lock off 
anyhow, I literally tried for over an hour total getting over that one light bridge that flickers on and off. years ago as a kid I could do it in one try, but I think my copy of the stupid game is busted or something.
I can’t find a pattern, the bridge flickers on and off randomly in terms of the short or long periods of time it is on or off. Sometimes I hit it right, but I will fall through the bridge before it turns off again. Other times I will jump and fall through the bridge when it is on. When I change it to classic mode, sometimes the bridge will make the sound like it is turning back on but it won’t turn on, at fight I thought it was a glitch and that maybe it was on, but invisible, however when I tested it indeed wasn’t there. So It is litterally the hardest thing I have tried, even LASO in Halo:reach is easier than this crap for me, amazing right? I don’t have live so I sadly can’t ask anyone to co-op it with me and get past it for me. What is going on?
I am just pissed off, I have wasted about an hour doing this to no avail. I try waling then jumping, jumping while it is off, to get a head start when it turns on, nothing seems to work. If anyone has any suggestions/glitches/hacks I would like to know, because this isn’t fun, its boring and I want to get on with the game and finish finding all the skulls and terminals and see the game in the new graphics.
I could never get through haha.
Edit. Wait, you realise you don’t need to cross it to finish the level, right?
First off, you’re not supposed to be able to cross the bridge. The proper route is to slog through the lower stuff and get to that side a bit later.
And second, I very much doubt that you used to be able to “do it in one try.” Everyone ever has given some effort into crossing that bridge, and very few people have actually managed it. And I mean that in the sense of “in the last ten years,” not “in the last few weeks.”
you don’t have to cross it? really? I have never done it any other way…ever…Didn’t know that, I’ll try it and get back to you, I guess I missed it, but I never ever knew you didn’t have to jump it. BRB
Haha wow. Just drop down and there should be a doorway that leads onto another room. I think it’s on the left. 
I find it very amusing that in all this time you didn’t know that it wasn’t the proper way to go. anyways, you jump down and as the poster above me said im pretty sure it’s on the left.
hm…This is peculiar, I cannot believe all this time I didn’t know there was a non-bridge jumpy way! Oh well I scratched my game disk because I rage quit anyhow…Good thing I paid $3 to gamestop for nerd rage scratch the disk insurance. >:D

Anyway, it definitely is possible. (just mute the audio if you don’t care about what I’m saying :P)
i could do it when i was 7, after a couple tries. then i could do it every time, but over the years of not playing it i haven’t managed to do it since, or rather, i haven’t tried. anyway it should be possible to do it, just look for the pattern.
Do NOT go by the sound. sit on one side of the bridge counting seconds between each change. when ready, go for it, all the time counting (crouch jumping helps)
