I’m stuck in onyx league and Instead of going down to gold I just end up sitting with an arrow over the beggining, if I lose another match nothing happens, If I win a match I get points but if I then lose again it goes back to the start. Its infuriating as Onyx is frankly not fun for me, as, whilst I can do alright if I try, it just isnt very fun.
Did you reach Onyx after your ten games or did you rank up to onyx from gold?
Yup, it’s just like Halo 3 in that regard. You can tank as many matches as you want once you’re 50 and your profile will still show a 50.

Doesn’t matter how it’s achieved. You literally cannot drop in rank. You can progress and regress from grades 1-3 in a given rank, but you can never drop below a given rank once you’ve achieved it. If you’re carried to Onyx in your qualifier matches, even if you are a silver quality player you are onyx indefinitely until the season resets. Which makes “same rank matchmaking” effectively useless even if it was implemented because ranks are not always accurate of a players actual skill.
This is one of the largest flaws I’ve found in the ranking system.
Its like hitting 50 whilst being AFC but forever being 50 no matter what not just showing you HAD reached 50.

Went from zero to onyx 1, then played a bit and got to onyx 2 and after ended up staying around onyx 1. Then I started to chill, and my brother started playing and I’m generally around the bottom of onyx.

That’s really annoying. I wouldn’t mind it that much in the real game as I can go to a social playlist to have fun, but atm, I have to play to win in order not to get rekt.
Haha i have the same issue. And i thought i would be the only one with that problem.
Onyx really gets annoying for me. Yeah i got to Onyx when i played with a team and im a decent-good player.
But im not 24/7 in the mood for MLG 10k Tryhard matches.
I really dont get why there is no Social Slayer Playlist in this Beta.
Both Halo 3 and Reach had this. I dont care that they wanna test their awful and flawed Ranking System. I want some fun too.
