Right after using the Repulsor in the trailer, the spartan sprints forward and then stops to begin shooting. It doesn’t look to me that the speed changes at all. Is this just me or is there actually no difference?
It definitely has little difference. Each Halo game since 343 took over offered compromises to sprint since it can often lead to scenarios of people running away rather than engaging and the fact a solid chunk of the community just does not like it. Halo 4 had the stopping power effect, Halo 5 had the shield recharge delay and it seems like Halo: Infinite chose to make it so there is virtually no difference in speed.
That being said, I doubt there is no difference - just a small one. And whatever the case may be, sprint is not useless as you can still use it to slide.

I think there might be a delay to get to full speed because before the repulsor shot it looks like he’s running faster. If not good, I’m one that doesn’t want sprint at all like many others so if there isn’t much of a difference then I think that’s a good thing.
You are right, it will just wait and if it is not favorable, 343 can adjust it with the opinion of the beta

I forgot about slide but you’re probably right. Perhaps a good compromise here.

Perhaps. I am anti-sprint myself, but I always willing to wait and see. Base movement speed looks quite nice, the maps do not look too big (save for vehicle spaces, obviously) and strafing looks snappy as hell. I am optimistic! My only concern is sliding. Specifically sliding with a shotgun. The thought of it gives me PTSD from Destiny. We barely saw it, so we have little idea how effective it is.

I’m very much in favor of how sprint is being handled assuming it cannot be removed. As for slide shotgun, the bulldog doesn’t look like it has 1 shot capability. Also good day, fellow security user.

This moment says otherwise. But maybe it’s just for the trailer. Again, we will have to wait and see!
It could just have a really long build-up of ~8s before giving the full boost. So it would only be useful if you’re far away from the action in BTB or something.

Sprint seems like it’s mostly going to be used for sliding, which slightly accelerates you forward.
maybe the sprint is just a fancy animation for top speed, and the sprint button is basicly just mini thrusters to get you up to top speed, with slide being the animation for it (except for directly forwards). clamber seems to be automatic and toned down too

Hm, now that’s a thought.
Could just be how it looked for the trailer for artistic aesthetics.
In game I’m sure there’s gonna be a delay
I’m firmly anti-sprint. But if it’s been toned down significantly, than I’ll accept it as a compromise.
