Now being able to see the mess that is Halo Infinite, I feel like they should have released the MP when they did, and delayed the Campaign another year.
Focus all resources on getting one mode right, then finish the others, with a later release date.
With the way 343 hires and let’s go of contractors the game would never had been Ina stable state. It’s not just a Missie of time rather of how they allocate resources, treat employees, and just kinda have. Rotating door of third party temp staffing that leaves things half complete just to have to retrain a new temp to finish that project.
Essentially 343 is not well managed and thus is never expected to release anything complete or competent. Due to this
This sounds dumb, but think we may have gotten a better game if they hadn’t delayed it the first time. I think Joe Staten came in and made sweeping changes and only had a year to get them implemented.
This also might explain why they have trouble making changes to the game now, because they modified it so hard to suit the Staten vision, that they have to untangle that mess before being able to make additional progress.
I’ve said it before…bringing in Joe wasn’t bad thinking, it was bad timing.
With all due respect, that is very much conjecture and speculation. There has been very little communication from 343i so we have absolutely no idea what the state of the game was, planned to be or how things would have panned out either way…the only thing we can fairly assume is that the game would have been in a matter state with another 12 months of development regardless of Staten.
I think that’s coming this Fall with season 3. I think they are holding back as much as possible from season 2, potentially even campaign co-op, for season 3 in hopes that it will hit with a massive splash.
If season 2 is another 6 months long, that would put Season 3 starting on November 1 or 8, which is that major holiday release window. That season could potentially provide:
Campaign Co-op
Forge
New Maps
New Modes
Entirely New Game Type
This could all be wrong, but it sure looks like that’s how they are positioning themselves.
It’s 100% speculation, because you are correct that 343 says nothing. However there have been several former employees that have come out, not ripping the game, but saying that every game mode, campaign, MP, Forge, were all significantly affected by the changes Joe wanted to make.
When the game was finished enough to announce a release date, any significant changes to one mode is going to create problems much less all modes. This would also check out by the delay of other features like campaign co-op and forge
You are right that we just don’t know, and will probably never know, but I bet it’s not far off.
Using that thought process of, “they told us last time” should indicate that they would have given the duration of season 2 in that release but didn’t so, I don’t think that thought process works either.
343 says a lot in terms of how things are going to go, until they don’t, so I wouldn’t put much stock in there 3 month long seasons until we have a larger sample size
Honestly updating MCC is what 343 is best at, they should honestly drop the idea of conflicting with Infinite, MCC can’t conflict with Infinite when MCC is slowly getting more players back from Infinite simply because it’s a better built game.
You assume every person that read that release for season 2, also read what you saw that said subsequent seasons would be 3 months long.
So yeah, I think if they were confident in that three month duration, they’d have said it, particularly because they mention season 3 so often in that release.
Well if they have been following the game, yeah, they would’ve, seeing as they mentioned it MULTIPLE TIMES.
They specifically said that S1 was DELAYED, not that that was what the seasons were going to be, lol
They’ve said it so many times, but not when they FINALLY announce the next season…makes sense.
Also never said all seasons would be 6 months long. I believe 3 months is what they’ll shoot for, but for season 2 , I can see them stretching it out again to make 3 more impactful. They need something more than 2 maps every 3-6 months if they want to bring anyone back.
Doesn’t matter how many maps they release, that isn’t going to bring people back, they know that.
Forge is going to bring people back (as well as this upcoming mode that was leaked)
Dude, if they delay S3, this game will be dead, doesn’t matter how big S3 is
