Alrighty. Now, in Halo 4 it’s assumed the Master Chief will receive MJOLNIR Mark VII Armour. I’m going to guess this armour will be compatible with Armour Ability-type systems. I’m bringing this up because I remember watching a video about the re-make of Halo: CE maps and Frank O’Connor stated that they decided to tie it into Halo: Reach was because people have become familiar with that play style (not exact words, but exact same meaning). I also know the other reason was because they didn’t want to split the community.
I also understand that the armour abilities in Halo: Reach were only prototypes on the planet Reach, that’s why the Spartan-III’s had 'em. I’m sure the information for these abilities would have been backed up somewhere else and eventually started again. They could explain this in a book or something.
Long story short. Master Chief will receive Mark VII armour and he’ll be able to use armour abilities. As all players in multiplayer will be Mark VII’s, armour abilities will be there too.
Thoughts. (I can’t wait for all the anti-armour abilities post)
At least you have plausible reasoning. While I hope they aren’t, there’s always the chance that they will be. Who knows, maybe AAs will be perfected and fit into the gameplay smoother than Reach has it.
Well your reasoning does make sense, though I’m sure most of the population would be rather unhappy if armour abilities did return. 343 Industries knows this, so I don’t think they’ll risk putting them back in.

I am hoping they at least make it back to custom games. Its been introduced to Halo, so it should remain at some point and aspect in the series. I don’t want them in MM, but as I said, they should be in Custom Games. Just like I think every weapon should be kept in, even if its just in Customs.

I agree in some extent, it would be nice if they did return in custom games. Armour abilities allowed us to have very unique and fun custom games in Reach (Dino Blasters anyone?) and it would be a shame if there wasn’t some way to recreate them in Halo 4.
> Halo 3’s equipment was far better, but I’d be okay with AA’s if they didn’t suck.
They ONLY thing that made equipment even bearable was the fact that they were on the map. I get more annoyed by certain equipment than I do certain AA’s.

The worst part about equipment was it’s unreliability. Bubble shield was the only successful Eqmt. In my opinion.
I don’t think they will if for no other reason than the fact that the majority of the population hates them and the population shows for it. I think they should just expand on equipment instead of AAs. Offensive equipment like power drain can be beneficial to gameplay but things like bubble shields/regens are not.

The “majority” of the population makes up the minority of buyers…

Who didn’t love throwing a Power Drain at a full warthog, stopping it, and putting BR rounds into each of their heads as they scramble to get out? Maybe you liked using the Power Drain on flying Banshees to take it down?
Who didn’t love throwing a Gravity Lift down when a vehicle was coming at you so that it flies over your head?
Who didn’t love throwing down Deployable Cover in Campaign, and shooting the BR through it?
Who didn’t love the awesomeness of Bubble shields in general?
Halo 3 had all kinds of crazy things happen because of these Equipment pieces. Armor Abilities just simply aren’t as fun, and aren’t as “sandboxy” as Halo should be in my opinion. I always thought Halo was more fun than other games because of unique moments like that that Halo 3 brought to the table. I don’t want to see that kind of heart and soul ripped out of the series completely.
Equipment more than deserves to be brought back. It was simply too short-lived.

That’s because the majority of buyers aren’t playing this game anymore because of bloom and AAs. If you’re talking about the casual gamers who only play a game until another one releases then who cares that they think? They only buy the game for the name on the case and don’t think about core game mechanics.
