Back in like 2015 I took it upon myself to finally beat Halo 2 on Legendary since I had never done it before that point. It took me a while but finally I completed every mission which I was really proud of since that’s no easy task. Well I didn’t get the achievement for it but I assumed it might just be lag and figured it would be unlocked eventually and all the missions displayed “difficulty completed: legendary” on the mission screen anyway so for the time being that was sufficient enough proof for me. Well it turns out the achievement still never got unlocked for me but what’s even worse is that now when I load a new campaign mission it completely reverts my progress to "unplayed’. What gives? I already completed this game on legendary and I know I did, the idea of having to go through all that crap again just because the game never properly tracked my progress is really annoying. Is there any way I can at the very least maintain completed state on the missions that still have it? I’m afraid of loading up any more missions because I don’t want my progress completely reset.
According to your service record here on Waypoint, the game didn’t register you completing “Oracle” and “Uprising”. Completing those two missions will net you the achievement .
Indeed, Oracle and Uprising did not register.
Also, The Arbiter, Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone result completed only on Heroic.
So I would try to replay those 5. Since you don’t seem very much willing to go through that (which is understandable since we all know the pain that H2 is on legendary) I might suggest you to watch some speedrun guides. You can complete Uprising in about 2 minutes. QZ is also fairly easy if you know what to do. Oracle has a pretty cool glitch that makes you invincible in the latter parts of the mission, and it’s easy to do. Just saying.

The thing with that is I replayed The Arbiter recently on Heroic, which I know displayed as completed on legendary before I started, and when I was done the game listed it as completed on heroic and then listed The Oracle as unplayed when it loaded next. So any mission I load has its progress reverted to unplayed. Now I’m afraid to even play the campaign at all. I don’t even understand how a bug like this can happen.
It’s really frustrating having gone through the effort to beat this game on legendary and not even have anything to show for it. How can I be sure it’ll even register if I replay these missions?
