I apologize for starting late...

Attention Halo fans,

This message is for those who began with Combat Evolved. I truly want to apologize for starting late. You guys (and girls) started this Great Journey when it began. I envy you. Because unfortunately I started with Halo 3, a year after its release. So in a sense I began the Great Journey of Halo 7 years late.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan now. I have collected all 8 Halo games, even the Legendary Edition of Reach and the Limited Edition of Halo 4 (along with the console). I have beaten every game solo on Legendary (will never be going through Wars solo Legendary again, that was a nightmare, will go Easy next time!) and I have read a few books, I have Halo: Legends 2-disc edition, and am constantly re-reading information.

Now here’s a couple things that may disappoint the long-time Halo veterans. I did not cry or even come close to weeping when (SPOILER ALERT! DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T BEATEN THE CAMPAIGN) Cortana died. I’m sorry that I didn’t feel an attachment. Also, I like the graphics and the multiplayer of Halo 4, and yes that also includes Spartan Ops. I love it all. They could use a better composer for the music but that’s it.

For fans who started with CE and hate Halo 4 or felt emotional through Cortana’s demise, I’m sorry that I can’t relate. Once again, I started late. I wish I hadn’t but there’s nothing I can do about it now. I will do all that I can to atone for this by spending as much effort as I can afford to being a better fan.

was this sarcasm? lol…or is there some underlying point to this i’m not getting?

I didnt feel attached either, and I started with CE, so calm down thar.

If you just started with CE, the only thing you would prbably feel is dissapointment. That music COULD of havee better, but they also know that.

They just knew exactly when to use their music.

Um… Apology accepted, I guess.

This is a strange post…

I started with CE. Yes, I was bummed out when Cortana died. I am not overly disappointed with Halo 4. In all honestly Halo 4 plays the most like CE because the DMR is very similar to the CE pistol.

I’m still crying, and it’s not because Cortana died…

In short, I feel like I am not a true fan by starting late. It would be the same if I was a Star Wars fan but I first watched Return of the Jedi (Ep. 6) all the way through and then went and watched A New Hope (Ep. 4) and The Empire Strikes Back (Ep. 5). I lose the true impact that REAL fan would have gotten. I missed out. And now I am trying to fix that.

Be happy you weren’t around in the glory days of the old trilogy. You would be less positive about Halo 4 as a fan…
