I am very disappointed in 343!

Well I purchased a brand new xbox in order to play Halo 4. I got Halo 4 tonight excited and ready to jump into multiplayer. I bought a 4 GB xbox slim to play Halo 4. I came to find that it takes 8 GB of hard drive space to download the second disc, are you kidding me right now! I spent over 250 dollars for something I cannot even play! 343 has done a terrible job of satisfying this customer. Why couldn’t the second disc itself be the mutiplayer? Why can’t they do what everyone else does and make the game fully operational from the game disc itself? I know I am not the only one with this problem. I work for what I have and I cannot afford anything else for a long time. The only conclusion I have for what has happened to me is that Microsoft is money grubbing. They are going to make me go out and buy a hard drive or a newer xbox 360 with a bigger hard drive. Why did you do this to a long time Halo fan, who has always loved this game series.

Welp. You should’ve bought the 200GB xbox.

and yes, Its 343s fault for packing Halo 4 with so much content that you have to download it.

This wasn’t some bait and switch: the memory requirements have been known for a while and are clearly mentioned on the back of the H4 box. Should have done your homework, buddy.

whilst i sympathise with you to be fair to 343 they said a while back that the game would need 8gb of space. hope you can sort this out.

If you have an 8 gig USB, you could use that.

Never get a system with the lowest amount of.memory just cause it looks.cheaper! Cause now.its gunna cost you more to get an extended hard drive. Remember that for your next system purchase

They said this at E3 so what, 5 months ago now? Very surprised you wasn’t aware of this.

I completely agree with you. If they want people to play Halo 4 then they should have the decency to not make it this way. I’m lucky to have the 250 GB xbox but when i bought it I had thought about getting the 4 GB because of the price. I think it’s great that 343 put all of this content into the game, but making it so most of the players cannot play the game without going to s store tomorrow and getting something extra is ridiculous. Having a hard drive is great, but if you can’t afford it get a flash drive that is at least 8GB. If you look in the local ads you can probably find one for ten dollars or less.

I feel bad for you, but this has been known for a while. If your xbox is knew, Im guessing you may be able to trade it in, or even get a refund

It’s not only about packing the whole multiplayer on a DVD. Some files might need a high transfer rate into the “system core” (simple said for the not so IT-ish people) and the DVD drive can’t give you that. To force the neccessary transfer rate for those files, an installation is a good option

I feel bad for you but really… should have done your research. Bigger is always better in the gaming world, especially for such an important thing like memory space.

Honestly, just get an 8 gig USB for ten bucks if you don’t already have one lying around. Slap it in the 360, install Disc 2 on that, and away you go to merrily shoot faces online.

You should simply take the console back and tell them, it’s not suitable. As It’s brand new and as long as you haven’t damaged it they should swap it out and you pay a bit extra for one with a hard drive. If it works out cheaper just get a hard drive. You’ll have the memory of the existing Xbox and the new hard drive and if cash is tight just get a 16gig flash-drive thing.

Not really 343’s fault mind, we’ve known about the 8gig requirement for months… we just didn’t know what it was for.

Do what I did; go to walmart and get yourself a 16gb memory card for only 12$! Hahaha  I think i’ll go buy a second one. Thanks for letting me know!

They told us months ago you need 8GB of space to download the multiplayer.

Go get a USB or something.

Get a hardrive! I mean what are you intending to do when map packs come out?

Well dude, that truly sucks for you. But all you have to do is spend $10 and get a 16gb USB flash drive and then install the multiplayer onto that. Flash Drives are quite cheap nowadays and you can easily find 16gb ones, maybe even 32gb?

Well you should of read the announcements 343 and MS put out there.

> If you have an 8 gig USB, you could use that.

An 8gb flash drive won’t work because you will have to format it to be used on the xbox. So you will end up having about 7.5gb or so of space available. Definitely better to just get a 16gb one. They are extremely cheap and easy to find.

Why would you buy a 4gb console when you can get a 250gb console for $50 more??!!!??!??
