For every rad flag, there is a blue flag, you just gotta go capture it!
I am still extremely excited!
I can say that my excitement about Halo Infinite is currently at a very low level. For me, I haven’t got a sufficient amount of information about the game to get excited. However, this day will come.
The red flags are the fact the developers are taking inspiration from older Halo games, the game not being in development for 5+ years, and a studio head + a couple others leaving. Other than that, everything seems normal.
I just love the art-style return. Even if Infinite doesn’t get it quite right, they’ll be one step closer by returning to a sleek and simple design language vs overproduced and busy.
I still believe that one day the right people will come to 343 and get it right

How is taking inspiration from older Halo games a bad thing?
As for Halo’s troubled development cycle, that does not necessarily mean that the game will be bad. For example, The Last of Us: Part II also had lots of problems, with important people leaving the studio in the middle of the development; a toxic internal culture promoting crunch and burnout; being delayed due to COVID-19; significant parts of the story leaking online and causing a lot of controversy akin to Halo’s “Craig-gate”. Fortunately the end product was excellent. I hope Halo Infinite will deliver as well.

TLOU2 has sold drastically worse then TLOU1.
Initially it sold a lot at launch. But then tanked sales wise once word got around of Joel being killed and Ellie being sidelined.
It pandered and backfired so to say. However journalists love it because of the social themes.

You may not agree with what TLOU 2 has to say. Despite having enjoyed that game for the most part, I, myself, have some issues with some narrative choices they made as well. However, there’s no denying that in the technical level, that is a superb videogame.
I seriously doubt that Halo Infinite will get into social issues and be dragged to the middle of culture wars the way that TLOU 2. Hence, if 343i deliver a product as polished as Naughty Dog did, while also having had its fill of development hiccups, I believe that Halo Infinite can be something special.
I am very very excited for Infinite, everything points to 343 making one of the best Halo games yet.
I am very eager to play the game. Halo: The Shadows of Reach was a great filler but also a tease as it left me wanting more new content.

Using the older Halo games is a crutch, especially with this mass appeal approach Infinite is undertaking. Though one can tell there’s a lot of new stuff meant for new fans.
If the game was in development since Halo 5, it might point to good things in my opinion. But there’s a lot that implies much of the game development started in 2018, which is concerning. Sure they made a new engine prior, but that means Infinite has a more regular development cycle than many think. That may not bode well for content, but the year delay will likely improve things.
I believe that Halo Infinite will be the best 343 Halo game to date. Only time will tell, and also let’s wait for more information.
