Okay so me and my brother-in-law have been grinding out ranked arena games like crazy. Both placed high platinum and worked up to diamond in a couple days. Everything is pretty solid game-play wise, maybe a few glitchy melees here or there but other than that all is well.
HOWEVER, our biggest problem is with the rank gains and losses. It seems almost random what you get whether you win or lose. For example: we had a game today where we won and I got 20 something kills, 11 deaths, and about 2 minutes on the Oddball. AND I LOST RANK, please explain it to me. You can’t make this stuff up. He did well and also lost rank. Completely lost and confused I wrote it off as some kind of glitch and kept playing. Only to once again do well, win, and lose more rank.
Another issue is the actual match-making. The people we get on our teams are truly nowhere near us in skill most of the time. I don’t mind getting high level plats on my team since we’re diamonds. The problem comes from getting people who are on their 1st or 2nd placement match. Completely out of their league and getting stomped. I’m sure thats not fun for them. We had a game with a duo stack on our team both on their 2nd placement game and versed an onyx. Not even close to fair for any of us.
Not sure what to do or how to fix anything but what we NEED is an extremely transparent and easy to read break down of how you gain rank points in arenas. I have truly no idea the reasoning of the gain or loss of rank when it happens. I hope no one has had these problems but if so please let me know.
p.s. please add something for players to rejoin if they leave a ranked game. My brother in-law was unlucky enough to get disconnected because the game crashed and gets punished heavily for it. And yes he has done everything imaginable to try and fix it with no success.
