I am returning this piece of crap.

My friends and I still play Halo 3 religiously while our Reach game is collecting dust somewhere.

What I am so disappointed is that they would allow the anniversary maps to be polluted with these jet packs… etc etc. If they are intending to keep it original, using the Reach engine wasn’t the way to go.

Change for the sake of change ruins the game.

I hope 343 realize what a mistake Reach was and stop utilizing it in future iterations of Halo.

In the mean time, we’ll still be soldering on inside ODST’s multiplayer.

Dude, calm down. How about you look on the positive side of things for once, like the way 343 spent time making the Anniversary edition because fans asked for a Halo CE remake.

I’ve just played through the first level and I’ve had quite a few glitches/bugs. Worse one was having to play in scan mode, with my pistol reticle displaying as the scan reticle and Covenant/Humans displaying as a sort of thermal white. I’m also massively disapointed with the new graphics, I think they could/should have been better.

I quit playing Reach multiplayer for numerous reasons, mainly the unbalacing effect of AA and I was quite disapointed to find that achievements for multiplayer are for Reach not CEA. I’d have preferred it if the achievements where all for the game I purchased today not one from last year.

I played the Firefight map and thought it had a Halo feel about it and I was pleasantly surprised to have ODSTs for company. I still have my treasured original Halo C.E on the shelf, and I’m wishing I’d just played through that yet again instead of spending new money on what is looking like another yearly Halo franchise title.

I don’t come on here much as I don’t like it as much as the old Bungie forum, so I’ve missed a lot of the news (achievements been divided between the two games being one.) and videos showing the game off. I came into CEA with no preconceptions and at the moment feel a bit let down. Hopefully a bit of co-op will lift the mood.

> > > guys check this out i got a plan: im gonna go out, buy a new game, play it for 5 hours, rage over things that can be fixed by tomorrow, rage about a website update which is also not even a day old, forsake all things Halo based on my 5 hour experience, then im gonna blog about it on the same site im raging about

> But hey, a new name allows them to get chewed out when, afterall, they mostly did this for the campaign, for the fans, and not for the multiplayer which, had they redone it, would have divided the community too much once Halo 4 released.

You don’t remember right. There are exactly FOUR people employed by 343 who have worked on previous Halos. Bam.

It’s a 10 year old engine. Double Derp.

  1. Haters gonna hate.

  2. If you don’t like it, don’t play it. Period.

This.

This !!!

> I can’t believe I wasted $40 and all that time being hyped for this -Yoink!-. That’s exactly what this is, an -Yoink!-! I didn’t experience the problems people listed about the game before official release, like the Classic-mode Plasma Pistol Glitch, or the screen turning white rendering gameplay impossible. But I did encounter several other problems.

> Fourth, and the biggie: MATCHMAKING, or rather, FULL-OF-FAIL-MAKING. I played Anniversary Classic on Beaver Creek. Let me start by saying, beautiful and faithful work by Certain Affinity, great job guys! Now, I’ll get on 343. What the Blam! is wrong with you?! The player speed is WAY too fast, the jump height is all wrong (It’s supposed to be height decreased and gravity decreased, not both INCREASED. Now you jump too high and fall too fast), and MY PISTOL IS BLOOMING. AR’s are shredding me from across the map and my Magnum does as much damage as it does in Vanilla Reach! WTF, I thought that’s what the *Blam!*ing TU was for, Bloom removal for Anniversary!! And then, oh, after two matches, “Xbox Live is unavailable” is flashing on my screen.

do us a favor and go cry and complain to your mommi because you didnt get Anniversary the way you wanted it

With 5 times the Xbox install base, Reach has sold at a slower pace than Halo 3. Reach also can’t hold a multiplayer community above a hundred thousand, which Halo 3 did easily for multiple years. So, going by the numbers, the let down would be Reach.

Reach=the poorest-received full Halo release ever. But Reach’s engine shouldn’t hold back CEA. A developer should have a head-start, since Reach does work as Bungie intended, just unfortunately for the player.

Give me a good reason for Halo reach being one of the best and halo 3 being a letdown.

Also nice K/D

How popular is Halo 3 now?

You mean four years later? It’s still in the top 15 of XBL activity. Do you really believe Reach will be in the top 15 four years from now?

Back then, all people played was Halo. Since then LOTS of big games have released and people moved on from Halo. I bet a lot of people left Halo for Call of Duty. Not a bad thing but people move on.

If you are really going to return this game then send me your code for the map dlc. I, like many others, am currently unemployed and one of the few things that I get to enjoy in life is playing Halo.

hey man, i’m not mad at you for voicing your complaints at all. I actually found some of it funny. I do hope they work all this out cause it sounds pretty bad. Not so sure about the movement and jumping though. I’m also ok with the AR having more range. I haven’t played yet so i can’t be totally sure.

You…are…high.

It’s really disgusting how people are attacking the guy for voicing LEGITIMATE complains about issues with a product he just bought. We have to hold game developers to high standards. It’s this kind of mindset that has turned the industry into “well our game is full of bugs and we didn’t properly play test the design, oh well ship it anyways and we’ll just patch it later.” We pay the full amount of money. We aren’t like “i’ll drop 5 dollars, give me the game, i’ll pay the rest in a few months.”. Some of you are acting offended or defending the botched launch, but what about when you start to experience all the things he’s talking about?

I don’t understand why 343 didn’t bother fixing the whole “Covie vehicles suck harder than a Black Hole”. The ghost can’t splatter jack, you can’t steal the wraith (which is OPed as hell), the Banshee bomb can’t kill a Jackal dead-on. And then, the Scorpion, which fires all over the place. I had a clear shot over some rocks (meaning none of the marker was on it) and guess what? The blast, which according to the reticule should never have come close to it, hit the friggen rock. Vehicles were friggen terrible in the original and they didn’t bother to change it. Rather, they offered achievements if you used (and inevitably died in) the POSes.
