I am now excited for the return of the BR.

At first I was like, okay, great the old BR is back, it’ll be like having the DMR in Reach. Yes, I know the weapons are different, so hear me out.

Yesterday, I decided to venture back to Halo 3 on Legendary (if you can call what’s pretty much Halo CE’s Heroic ‘Legendary’). Miffed at the lack of mid- to long-range weapon at the start of Sierra 117, I soon snatched up a BR and within seconds was popping Grunts and taking down Brutes.

Now, I know I can do precisely the same with the DMR, but it only fires one shot per trigger squeeze, not 3. As such, the BR feels like a satisfying beast compared to what Reach has got me accustomed to, and if my first bullet from my BR burst isn’t a headshot, then either spread could make the following and/or the last shot a one-hit kill (I don’t pay that much attention to aiming mechanics), or the other bullets of the burst could do enough damage to kill the alien.

So yes, I am actually very happy now that the BR is returning. I just hope the sound gets fixed (though speculation suggests it’s placeholder at this stage). Also, it looks like a weapon from Perfect Dark right now. But I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

Always will love the BR. Been my favorite weapon for a long time.

BR is the best!

I love the BR can’t wate to use it in halo 4.

The halo 4 BR is 5 shots to kill, or has otherwise been confirmed?

The BR should be quite fun to use again. Will definitely be my most used weapon in Halo 4. Can’t wait to see it in action at E3!

$20 says that you BR lovers will be let down. not trying to say 343 is bad just saying that the BR isn’t going to be what you remembered it as. (just a feeling)

I can’t wait to use the BR again too, But I think I like the DMR better. Something about single shot feels better to me. Like it has more power. Burst fire just feels slightly sluggish.

I think it will be interesting to see how both weapons play out in halo 4.

BR hands down my favourite weapon of all time in Halo!
