Or how about don’t put me against a team of four players and put me against people who are searching solo. Not a heavy request and everyone is going out of their way to misunderstand the point here
What kind of argument is that? “That’s just how it is” okay, a lot of things in this game are what they are. Should no changes be implemented? Should the store have remained 20 dollars an armor set? Or do I get to regurgitate “That’s just how it is” to every piece of criticism on here? Smh
It’s no about being anti-social. The hundreds of friends I have on Xbox don’t play the game. And that’s beside the point. Stop blaming the person and look at the company. You shouldn’t be pairing solo players against teams of four. This is simple logic.
You missed the “really bad players play really, really bad” part
Tha match making is just filling slots bro. It’s hard to have those ideal matches when you play alone. Having 3 team mates close to your rating in my experience give the best matches. You consistently get matches against players higher than you because as a team the system calculates it as an advantage. So more opportunities for the players to progress rank if they show they should progress.
Worst experience is when you join a player much higher up. This makes the matches filled with players much higher, and results in the instances of gaining 1 csr for a win, 10 or more for a loss over and over. Very fast way to derank even if you’re showing you can handle the lobbies.
All you can do is try and find other players though. The lack of content is killing the game. I myself don’t get on that much because there’s just not much to do. Idk the population number. When I’m on I usually get close matches playing with friends. If I play alone it swings. I carry, I get carried, or I get stomped on. It’s like the MM doesn’t know what to do once I’m playing alone. It’s too random for my liking so I hardly ever do it. I definitely get it bro. I’ve had bad team mates, and at the same time I’ve probably been a bad team mate. I’m human. Not always functioning 100%.
I actually agree with you on this. My response above wasn’t to you directly, just made in general.
Why aren’t you playing solo duo tho? That’s what that playlist is for. It will always be the players decision to go in alone or play with someone. Sometimes you’ll get team mates close to your rating, but that’s mean nothing bro. The system finds a value of a player and plugs it in. There’s still human error, and not everyone even gets to their rating the same way. There’s people who climb up to onyx facing nothing but low plats and mid daimonds. Then there’s people stuck in d6 where their lobbies are nothing but high daimonds and Higj onyx. The MM grabs whoever it can and says well hey…the average mmr of this team and that team have a slight differential where the under dogs can perhaps have an opportunity to win.
Its calculating the raw numbers of the players. It’s not looking at their stats, their play style, etc etc. Just a rank value. We have an expectation of what that rank value should mean as far as player skill…but as I’ve said some people for whatever the reason is, rank up in easier matches than others. I’m not defending the system at all. I’m just suggesting…get a team bro. Otherwise you’ll hate the game more amd more.
My examples above come from social playlists.
Getting stomped as a new player is probably a massive reason for the dwindling playerbase.
Matchmaking is broken right now.
we live in the 21st century, right?
So it shouldn’t be too much to ask to have a system where each player can define the parameters of whom s/he likes to be matched with.
Why do I have to manually go through the LFG list to find players who use a headset (that makes making call-outs soooo much easier - and 99% of players don’t even use d-pad down, mostly bc they have no f’in clue about that “feature” in the first place LOL).
The xbox “knows” who has a headset connected and it would be nice if I could just tell matchmaking to match me with others who have a headset.
It really is that simple.
The social settings for this game are as bad as halo 5. They really should have emulated the halo 3 experience. Idk how much about halo you know, but halo 3s social and even default ranked did not play with tournament settings for movement or even damage. This reduced the skill gap in the gun skill category, and created the “chess” scenarios people loved. Its a lot slower pace and manageable. This game, where despite people saying aim assist is aim bot, has the bottom half of players struggling very badly, and the MM doesn’t help. I can’t blame them for leaving if that’s what every match feels like. Im sorry if I gave the impression that’s I’m like this die hard 343 guy that wants to excuse every single flaw. That’s not what I’m trying to do. I’m just trying to save people the frustration man, with the only advice I can give since it’s worked for me.
I dont play social at all though. Tbh I really hate having motion tracker enabled.
It’s frustrating concept of how the matchmaking system works.
I also share your frustrations because I too often have to strong carry team mates that accumulate no more than 4 or 5 kills between them all. It’s absolutely spirit killing for me sometimes and it does definitely feel sometimes like I am being punished.
But then I realise…
Around 15 years ago or a little more than that when I was playing Halo 2 and 3 I too was one of those massive noobs that could barley register no more than a couple kills. My team mates that were carrying me back then in 2004-2010 probably thought the very same thing about me and hated having me on their team…
Now things have become full circle.
Now I am the one that carries team mates.
Think of it this way, these kids or low skill players are probably getting shredded every single match and not having very much fun at all.
When they play with you and you carry them to a victory or at least get them close to winning it’s probably the best fun they’ve had on the game in a long while.
Carry the torch spartan.
Just something to think about…
Oh no, I didn’t mean to imply you were. I was just pointing out that it was social as most people would think your mental for not finding a group before going into ranked. I played 5 games of social earlier and put stats up from that.
That’s a very touching way of putting it. But… I still cant help but think players with a low elo would be better serviced if they had a player pool of other low elo players to play with.
This has two benefits.
They get to play with people who are of a similar skill, they shouldn’t be getting stomped hard by being placed in matches with players that have reached Onyx. If that’s what they are experiencing on their first few games of Halo, its absolutely no wonder the game cant retain new players. They need to be eased into it. Apex does this for sure and to be honest, anything that has a nicely tuned “Matchmaking” system does this already.
Higher elo players don’t have to carry so hard. its pretty disheartening seeing the enemy team scoring so fast you literally cant get kills quick enough to carry your new bros/sis’s. I don’t want to be curb stomping, I much prefer the matches that are tight and competitive… when the score is so close it could go either way.
I wonder how many players have been turned away from Infinite simply due to getting the floor cleaned with their faces.
I think you are bang on the money with that.
If these low skilled players were matched with players of their skill level not only like you said would high skilled players not have to carry so hard and actually get to play more relaxed and socially but these low skilled players would also have a great chance at becoming MVP or at least best on their team.
That would only do wonders for their self esteem, they would enjoy the game more and not only that they would be further motivated to get even better at the game itself.
I think you’ve nailed it with that comment. That’s a perfect solution for all! :
Your K/D must match or be worse than those you are being paired up with
The game doesnt select or punish good or bad players, it comes down to the player themselves and what skill they bring to the game.
In your case, your just bringing complaints to the game…
Here is some advice… You’re not a “ Pro Player or Tourney Player “
Your complaints are valid, but your K / D isn’t.
Oh look its mister KD again. Just to remind you, you have a KD of 1.04
[SII MasterChief’s Profile Overview - Halo Infinite Tracker (halotracker.com)](https ://halotracker.com/halo-infinite/profile/xbl/SII%20MasterChief/overview?experience=overall)
Big oof.
Big off on you for going that extra mile lol but the thing is, I ain’t comparing K/D’s, Im pointing out how his K / D ties to his argument for geo tracking.
Educate yourself before assuming.
To me, the Infinite k/d doesnt matter, I hardly play the game due to the issues plaguing it.
If my K/ D really matters to you, then feel free look at my past Halo title k/d’s and ranks ; And you’ll see that those K/D’s and ranks are far superior with way more time logged in on a consistence basis.
Infinite just came out, as you can see, I haven’t touched the rank playlist due to the issues, but hitting Onyx or Champion is simple.
Infinite is not that intriguing of a game at all.
Pick one son and stick to it. Stop flip flopping like a fish stranded on deck.
Copying your tag and pasting it into a halo tracker is hardly an extra mile either. I dont care about your past halo experience, this is the infinite sub and we are talking about infinite… do you need something to keep you focused?
Keep blamin me and not the game lmao
Summary
- MY K/D DOESNT MATTER.
READ THAT AGAIN CHILD.
- “ You’re not a “ Pro Player or Tourney Player “ “
Be sure to mention that part to when quoting me bud, He isn’t that, you’re not that and I am not that.
“ Your complaint are valid, but your K/D isn’t “
Let me break it down for you child…
The game doesnt select or punish good or bad players, but the game will in fact place you in a pool of players with similar K/D’s… Occasionally, a High ranked / High K/D player will drop in your match, thats just the algorithm, error or no error, it just happens.
- I brought his up K/D as a concept, ( " Must Match or Be Worse “ ) - ( I didn’t even look it up and i don’t care for what it is ) I brought up the “ Concept “ of K/D so that he can see how his argument can contradict his complaint base on the K/ D.
“ Algorithm “ is the concept I’m speaking of.
READ THAT AGAIN AND GO REREAD MY REPLIE TO HIS.
- AT NO POINT DO I EVER MENTION OR COMPARE MY K/D TO HIS OR ANYONE’S.
IF YOU GOING TO GO THE EXTRA MILE, COOL, GOOD ON YOU, BUT WHILE YOUR AT, TAKE THE TIME TO COMPREHEND WHAT I TYPED… I KNOW IT MAY BE A BIT BIG BRAIN FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOU, BUT TAKE THE TIME AND YOU’LL UNDERSTAND… Eventually.
To answer your question if you didn’t catch it in the beginning…
- My K/D doesnt matter…
Child, you literally went out of your way, looked it up, posted and brought it up…
Where did I ever do that when replying to him???
I didn’t even know what it was, but thanks for taking the time to mention it, here is your

When you choose to ignore solutions that would fix the problem and play the game, instead you choose that you would rather sit down and complain full time on a message board instead.
This is a problem that every game with a matchmaking system in place faces BTW. It’s not just Halo Infinite alone has to deal with, but every game out there. It’s a fault with relying on a matchmaker to pick teammates for you instead of picking them yourself issue.
