I’m 45 and lack a DMR. Oddly enough I have skin for it. What packs to buy currently silver or gold?
I only unlocked one DMR and it is a level 8 REQ. The DMR is my favorite weapons as well.
The REQ system is a lottery, though thankfully one that can be gamed in your favour with a little work.
Clean out your Common unlocks by finishing Bronze packs, removing Common unlocks from the Silver ‘loot pool’
Then move on to Silvers, removing everything that is Uncommon and Rare from the Gold ‘loot pool’.
Do that, and by the time you are done with Silver packs, you’ll have 6 different base scope DMRs to use (I had my Silvers done by SR80).
Once you move on to Golds, everything will be an Ultra Rare, or Legendary/Mythic (at least until the next content update adds more Uncommon/Rares) making them worth the 10k REQ points, imho.
Buy Req packs
I got the legendary Bracer skin for the DMR long before I even unlocked it. I recommend using the silver pack method though that’s how I got it.

Let me guess, you buy nothing but gold packs? Use the bronze pack strategy, it saves you time
Got my first DMR a few days ago at 84.

Yeah, be sure you’re buying in the progression intended by the REQ system. Bronze packs till done with all common permanent unlocks, then silver till all rare unlocks are grabbed, and then move into gold. Any other method is wasteful.

main silver untill you get it
Still buying those silver packs? I got 6 different DMRs including a legendary all with gold packs starting when I was at level 32. Now I think I’m at level 65 or anc got my 6th one this week. I will offer to you if you play on my team I can easily drop mine and go to the REQ shop and get another in matches.
By 81 you should be done with silver packs, which would have given you all of the DMR-Longshot variants.
I think 343 should have done a better job explaining the benefits of bronze-silver-gold progression in the req system.
You dont buy silver packs do you? You should be about done if not done with every unlock you can get from silvers at 81. Also i can empathise. The last silver pack to unlock things for me gave me the helmet i wanted.
You’ll get it eventually, I have around 5 now.
It took me a long time to get as well. Can’t remember the level, but I have them all now. Keep plugging away.

The base version of every loadout weapon should have been available to everyone from the beginning. Not alt scopes or anything, just whatever is the base scope. I don’t see why 343 did it this way.

It’s not that useful.
Just keep grinding away on Silver packs man, they’ll come.
