Tone of voice and body language. Seriously read what I said. Text alone can be misinterpreted in any way. Try rewatching and if you can’t see then I don’t know what to say to you because it’s painfully obvious.
If you say so and if it’s confirmed to be Cortana I won’t be replying to brag about it because I have better things to do and not interested in bragging about it sheesh!
derived from Joyeuse, the third of the 3 swords of which Durendal & Cortana come from, what with the whole “Sword of Roland” tale that the names are inspired on, and those 3 weapons are said to be made from the same material, Cortana and The Weapon are made from raw genetic data from Catherine Halsey, the same but different, something that also distinguishes The Weapon further from Cortana.
I also don’t like the idea of the weapon using cortana’s name since though they are origin and data wise in structure, “the same”, they are not the same individual, think of it like a clone situation, plus after finally putting cortana to rest after her death and return is just kinda lame to me.
I don’t know. Joy just sounds kind of forgettable plus pretty sure most people would just end up nicknaming her Cortana since it kind of feels counter-productive.
Of course there not technically the same person but I guess in a way she might be if Cortana has somehow fused with ‘the weapon’. I guess this is just a sort of rebirth thing like with ‘Data’ from TNG.
that would be a possibility, to me though the two may look the same but they just aren’t, they have the same building blocks yes, but very different attitudes, which is why it feels wrong to call her cortana.
Joy or Joyeuse, either one plus without the sword of Roland connection Joy is a pretty apt description of her, she’s a jolly one the weapon is.
but bringing cortana back AGAIN after all that even if slightly will just damage halo 4 and infinite itself, just let the name and character rest, they’re dead.
In the Christmas Dev Livestream one of the 343 employees referred to the Weapon as Cortana and then corrected himself. So…that means one of two things.
I’m not so sure. 343i have a bad habit with bad storytelling. I’m not convinced that Cortana is perma dead. I kind of feel like Halo 4 did somethings that was not acceptable like trying to kill her off and honestly I’m fine with ‘damaging’ Halo 4’s plot when it went against what was ‘good’ and the same goes for Infinite for trying to kill her off again then annoying me with constant hints to Chief dying all the time and I kind of got sick of 343i doing this. I just want my game with MC and Cortana…and 343i seems to be making it harder and harder to enjoy the campaigns.
Plus it was bad enough that they hyped a major Halo ring and then barely explained anything. I had so many questions about the ring and none of my questions were answered and now I’m stuck with a game where I’m stuck with more questions and less answers.
Then what would be the point of killing her off again, the bad narrative decisions come from a case of mismanagement. Halo 4’s plot I found to be a great start, it just got worse and worse due to the disconnected follow up that came after, a FA-TLJ situation, only with a larger gap in time in-between with missing context that you have to look elsewhere for.
to give 5 some credit however, it didn’t pull a TLJ in erasing all future plot threads to result in a “somehow palpatine returned” situation.
agreed about Zeta’s handling, to many allusions to what’s buried within, not enough looking for the mysteries of said ring ourselves.
Halo 5 was just as bad. They basically turned Spartans into power rangers and basically made no explanation about the Warden which was spammed to hell. Only interesting part about Halo 5 was the ending involving the major cliffhanger and 343i choose to completely ignore and skip the hype and rush ahead. Only interesting part about Halo 4 was the Didact and I can’t think of anything else at the moment but I didn’t think much of the campaign either. As for Infinite I find it just as bad because things were forced again even if it made the general story confusing or just bad.
The game had so much potential for open world and so many things that could have been done like different zones and many different enemy’s like the Flood, yet we got the same maps over and over which was very repetitive and don’t get me started on how poorly designed the flying was.
I think for the 1st time ever 343i have made it so I’m not remotely hyped for the next Halo game or ‘expansion’ because the story is a mess.
Halo Infinite could’ve learned from MGSV The Phantom Pain as far as open world games go, also allows a further focus on the militaristic side of things being naturally integrated into the narrative in turn.
Totally agree! They have been doing yoink like this since halo 4! Constantly missing out information and leaving giant unfilled gaps between games unless you purchase and read one of there poxy books which you shouldnt have to use to get the full story for the games!!! Also you will just be bombarded now woth all the fams who are in denial saying “they will probably answer everything in dlc” hahaha yeah sure they will! Weres halo 4.4 and 5.5 to explain all the crap thry missed out of them games aswell?! Just laziness or greed from 343 either way the games are suffering!
maybe it will be Catherine… it starts with a C and references Halsey… but it isn’t Cortana 2.0 at least. Whatever it is, hope it at least surprises me, as she and bro hammer kinda grew on me by the end of the campaign…
I mean, I referred to her as that before the ending to my boyfriend who I was playing the game with. She is basically the “Cortana” of this game, and it just came out. That didn’t mean I ever thought her name literally was Cortana.
Honestly I would like to believe that they left it open with so many questions so that they could do dlc content where say u travel to other rings to stop new enemies trying to use them or even the banished again and this part is a true hope but that Cortana isn’t dead but maybe fragmented and not on this halo anymore and you find a trace of her in the dlc
