Yeah but firefight was never really about defending bases it was about killing waves of enemies.

It wasn’t really that great, imo.
It almost felt too easy to me. I played a couple games with all randoms and we never once came close losing. by the time the final wave come out, we all had such powerful REQs that it took minutes to finish the last wave. Maybe since it was a beta, they capped the waves at 5.
Having played a couple of matches, I have to say, I really wish they called it something else. 343i seems to be betting that the name “Warzone Firefight” is going to bring everybody back because, “It’s just like Firefight, but with REQs!!”. It is a decent mode, don’t get me wrong, but it just does not capture the Firefight feel for me. Don’t ask me why.

Its becouse of boss objective. Its not a wave of enemies to survive with limited lives but its countless lives and stupid boss to kill.
That’s why defense of the garage is closest to FF.
It was a fun game type, looking forward to it coming out.
When is it coming back ?
I wish every round was like ‘defend the garage’. It’s so chaotic and fun. Reminds me of Reach Firefight… except for the stupid timer.
