I am getting disconnected constantly

First off I want to say this is a great game, and I’m having alot of fun playing so far. At the risk of getting banned for “quitting” I literally cannot play the game right now, because I continue to get disconnected. I get a loading screen in the middle of a match and then after a popup comes up informing me that I was disconnected from the match, due to some “local” error or I couldn’t “join” something. One or the other, usually happens 1 out of every 3 matches. My speed is in the realm of 200 mbps down and up, and yes I have tried hard resetting my xbox, restarting halo 5, etc. I’m still connected to xbox live when this occurs, it seems to be a problem exclusive to halo 5.

Having the same exact issue here. Real shame.

I have not had this experience with any previous Xbox or game (Halo or otherwise).
Some other details that may help:

ISP: Webpass San Francisco
Router: Apple Airport Extreme, 802.11ac
Xbox One is connected wirelessly, same for the Xbox 360 that was previously there

Error on screen:

same issue here, does it only happen to people on the nxoe?

Also out of me and five of my friends on the nxoe I am the only one with this issue, not sure if it makes a difference but I have the halo 5 guardians edition Xbox one console.

Plan on seeing this message very often until a formal announcement (Twitter and a locked forum shown in help section) is made so people stop wasting their time and money on “solutions”. This is all I want
The lack of service and blaming of consumer setups is outrageous.
They suggest changing DNS (I did this day 2, no help).
I have tried multiple forum posts, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
All we get in response is:

Provide a time line or at least make everyone aware of the issue rather than responding to a forum post with this garbage. Thousands of people have this issue. Many turn to purchasing new hardware or bring out a technician for $100s of dollars to play a game and 343 knows it is an issue on their side. MAKE IT PUBLIC THAT IT IS YOUR ISSUE AND YOU’RE WORKING ON IT! Stop letting people waste their time and money!
I’ve read hundreds of posts. Some are even TWC technicians who know it isn’t a hardware or service provider issue.

I have tried to get help for this issue here, reddit, Xbox support forum and twitter but no one replies.

I can’t even join a single multiplayer game because of this issue, it appears to be only a problem with Halo 5 as other games work fine for online multiplayer

Amazing how a Mod above hides King of Range’s post and labels it Spam??

I smell a cover up whenever I see anything like that.

Range is correct, 343 are going see an explosion of unhappy customers posting their disgust in many different locations on the net.

I would have thought it would be in their best interest to keep as much of this in-house as possible.

If you push your customers away from your own forums, then its only going to manifest into something that not only hurts 343 and the Halo franchise, it’ll hurt all of us that want nothing more than to have Halo Guardians working as it should.

I love the game, but with poor networking - it really is shafting all the effort and work that you guys put into making the game, we simply can’t enjoy it the way it was intended.

They don’t seem to care very much at the moment… And they don’t realize that HR and H4 and HMCC failed hard because of this.

I am having the exact same issue and it’s clearly not my connection that is the issue because all of my other games work perfectly fine online.

I was happy to forgive after the debacle that was the master chief collection but now that guardians is doing the same - and I haven’t been able to play a single game online - I am about ready to give up on Halo for good.

I was having this problem last week, then suddenly with the new patch everything worked again. now not even 24 hours after i played my game it kicks me from the MP game. i restart the modem and try again. now i cant even connect to the Halo 5: guardians server… this is beyond frustrating. is this problem only for the halo 5 x box one or the digital copy or with any set up?

Any set up. I’ve had the same issue for at least a week and a half now, it makes playing unbearable, especially when you play an entire match of warzone only to be disconnected in the last two minutes.

i think this is a bit weird, since the 6,9gb update my game was ruined, constantly disconnections, no conecction with servers, and today all my campaing and multiplayer stuff are missing…

I’m having the same problem. I’m playing with a friend. We both have halo 5 in the same house. And about 50% of the time one of us gets dropped. Makes it very hard to play with a friend.

The error is “You have been disconnected from the local network”

Worth mentioning that I’ve never had this problem with any other game.

Also I see no way of contacting 343 directly? Most companies have a way other than forums to be contacted.

Good to know I’m not the only one having this problem. I do smell a cover up here. I don’t have problems with any other multiplayer. It seems to get more frequent over time. Very frustrating as I love the game. May end up selling it if it doesn’t get fixed.

Clear your cache. It worked for my friend when he was having the same problem.
