I am concerned that 343 have not been given enough time to work on the game. From the two maps we have seen they both just consist of shades of gray. The graphics are very jaggy and very rough around the edges. The lack of a beta is what gets to me the most. Frankie basically said that they do not have time to release a beta, so they are basically way behind schedule (This is obvious from the graphics). They then talk about pulling off a perk system but without giving us a beta this is going to end up just like COD. Please 343 delay the game and let us test it!!
for the graphics…its work in progress, and this game will not be anything like COD

They’ve had plenty of time, if the game is not good after about 3 years of development, bye bye Halo. But i am sure it will be successful

Ranked won’t have those gimmicks and I’ll be playing mostly ranked, so I don’t care about perks.

By making lots of different playlists they are spliting the community and making the game less consistent, and I like the idea of perks, I just don’t like the idea of unbalanced perks. If they let us get hands on with the game and provide some feedback then the perk system could end up being amazing. Also I doubt the graphics will get any better. It really sounds like they are under pressure to get the game finished let alone add bungie levels of polish.
I need to point out the example laid by Borderlands here. Originally that game was going to look like a realistic shooter similar to COD or BF. But, just a few months prior to release they decided to differentiate themselves and took the game in the unique cel-shaded direction. This goes to show that it probably won’t take long for the polishing to be completed by 343 and improve upon what we’ve seen even more.
It clearly says at the beginning of the video that everything in the video is subject to change. Obviously all the things you saw in the video are not complete do you honestly think they would release a game that was half finished??? did it ever cross your mind that they were showing half completed images of maps so as not to reveal to much of the game!? They game has not been polished yet because its not finished yet!!! dont get all worked up because you saw a map that had bad shading… honestly man…

Dude from the look of it your the one getting worked up. I agree with the TC!! Absolutely no colour variety in the maps and poor jaggy graphics. Don’t try and tell me that the game isn’t finished it will just make you look ignorant towards game development. With roughly 7-8 months left there going to finish and polish the game ?? Yeah right. Gears of War 3 was so good because they took a year to test it, fix it and polish it. 343 aren’t even finished the game and they are expecting to ship this fall!! The lack of a beta worries me swell because Frankie basically said that they don’t have time for a beta and are just worried about shoving it out finished or not !! If they don’t have time to test then they don’t have time to polish. The games going to launch and the networking will be poor because it will be it’s first time exposed to such numbers online, the graphics will be poor because they haven’t got the time to polish and the weapons, perks and maps will be unbalanced due to a lack of testing (look at MW2)
CE had gray and no one complained about it. Personally, I think the lighting and effects will counteract the dull grayness (I didn’t see any dullness though). Also, I believe Frankie mentioned Anti-aliasing.

They’re not going to delay the game. This holiday season is the last for the the 360. Next year the new Xbox will be released. MS is going to do everything the can to get the game shipped holiday 2012, and sell as many copies as possible. It’s like what happened with Halo 2.
