Its like ‘yay BR’ oh wait that guy just started running off, ‘wtf’. Then armor that effects gameplay, as if loadouts and AAs weren’t enough to break game-play balance now every piece of armor is going to make another player “unique”?
What happened to you, your BR and your strafe? No now we have to make the game “dynamic”, some might even say “it takes more skill”.
IMO if they don’t have a pretty beast ranking system, as well as playlists that have no sprint and aren’t affected by armor “perks” then this is going to spiritually be “Reach 2.0”
He doesn’t like some of the stuff he’s seen (which a lot of people can relate to) and he thinks it’s going to spiritually be Reach 2.0 (which a lot of people including myself wouldn’t like).
dont see whats wrong with the new armour system have you seen what it does? no so shush. you dont know what is coming next and they can make classic playlists.

Can be fixed, it is a tactic, not a problem with sprint itself.
That works with normal strafing, too. And guess what, you can run after him.
Faster movement speed breaks map control?
Do you guys really need random and stretched out mundane reasons to remove a game mechanic that you do not like in an attempt to convince yourself and everyone else at it’s negativity?

Is there any evidence that 343i actually thought about that? I would actually be surprised, very few people learn from mistakes. This would quell some of my fears, but still, we need more info.
Sprint is not a welcomed addition to gameplay. I’m sad to see that this kind of stuff is becoming the norm for gameplay standards. What happened to the chief always sprinting like in Halo 2/3? I’m all for equipment which requires players to pick up and use, but built-in mechanics which ran rampant on Reach with little to no positive effects lessens my trust that 343 will deliver something great like the h2/3 did.
Of course, this remains to be seen, but I am going to remain skeptical.
Also, WHY IS THE BR RETICLE AND EMPTY CIRCLE? FIX IT. It looks dumb. (somewhat facetious, but still serious)

i love people like you, your funny.
firstly; “now every piece of armour is going to make another player “unique””
where did you get this from a have watched the video a half dozen times and saw no mention of this.
links or it didn’t happen.
secondly; yes being able to kill someone who has the ability to escape is more skill full than killing someone who cannot, you too have the ability to escape if the tables are turned, and both players have the ability to chase the runner. so yes, winning a fight because you new when and where to start one is more difficult and requires more skill than winning a fight that cannot be avoided.
thirdly; people will want classic that given, so the chances of not having classic game types built-in, or even their own playlist is slim, i believe.
forth; yes a good ranking system based off skill that is very hard to exploit is required for balanced MM.

Why do people suggest “running after them” as some viable option? Anyone with half a brain knows that they are running for back up or to gain some advantage over you at the next corner.
There is no fight that cannot be avoided the only one you have to blame for getting yourself into that situation is you. And why would you sprint away if you “new” when and where to fight?
The whole point is, you make a mistake and your death is on you. Now you can just run away from all your problems just to gain an advantage at the next corner.

Didn’t the new video have the developers say something that the maps weren’t pulled from the campaign, that is was built with competitive in mind. If that’s the case why are people saying stuff like ‘breaking map control’ if sprint was left in the game. You’d think that as developers they’d have this under control and would have thought this out.
I can understand people using Reach as an example against my argument but in that case weren’t most of the MP levels taken from the campaign? I don’t know if there was an article about Bungie making the MP maps and then fitting them into the campaign or vice-versa. Not only that, if it really was a problem in Reach I’m pretty sure 343i would take note of it and try to balance it out.
Though in my opinion, I never knew sprint was such turn off for some people. Seemed perfectly fine in Reach to me. And if everyone has it (don’t know if it’s been confirmed or not) I don’t see how it could be broken when every has the same options.

If there’s a properly implemented bleedthrough mechanic, Sprint + Beatdown is eliminated. Put a couple of shots on the guy sprinting at you and punch him in the face when he gets there.
Nothing wrong with sprinting away to avoid death. Not to mention, by the time someone processes that they’re losing the battle, tries to turn, then sprint away, you could have already killed them. If that fails, chase after them with your OWN sprint ability, or toss a grenade near them.
Sprinting won’t break map control if everyone starts off with it. Even if it was a selected ability (like in Reach), breaking map control is a pitiful excuse to get rid of it. If I’m controlling a portion of the map with my team, a person sprinting at me rarely breaks through the line of defense my team has.

i did not say running after them is a ‘viable option’, just an option, some people will let a sprinter run, other less tactical people will chase…
when i kill someone, and i am weak is it not fair that i make best of my point advantage and -Yoink- of danger before the inevitability of reach’s spawn system drops 4 enemies on my head? (something i think we all hope doesn’t happen 99/100 times on h4).
or if im in a fight it could go either way, and they run with sprint what is to say that before my shields go up, or i find a health pack that i wont be jumped by a fresh enemy, no i would say that sprint is a good tool.
as for ‘why would you sprint away if you knew when and where to fight?’ that’s simple, i know what i can and cannot kill, in reach i do not go into a room with 3 enemies in it on my own without a good reason, i do not try kill a tank with a dmr when it knows exactly where i am, i do not stick my head out to snipe when there is a banshee trying to bomb me out of my base. but part of knowing where and when to fight is knowing when to get out of the way. i am no use to my team dead.
and i know that anyone with half a brain will expect chasing an enemy will lead to a trap, luckily there is a good number of people out there who still chase me, i like kills away from the rest of their team.
also, as many people have said, i can sprint, my dad, sister, mom and cousin can sprint, why the hell can a surgicaly augmented soldier trained from childhood wearing powered assault armour not sprint?
