That aside that’s not my beef, it’s that they can’t admit they messed up and posted this -Yoink- cover up damage control story about it being a trial all along. This is a straight out -Yoinking!- lie, and if your company can’t even admit that it messed up it shows a lot about your character. Can’t blame MS for this one guys and girls.

I know, shocking, isnt it?
How can a company as big as 343 lie to us like this. Surely this is illegal. 343 act as if they have no accountability. The release of the map pack was obviously a MISTAKE, so stop pretending it was planned. Because if it was planned, then surely they have tread into the territory of false advertising and deception.

Exactly, just own up to the mistake. There was no mention of a trial when you downloaded it, it was the real thing. This lie wasn’t made till AFTER this thing exploded.

If I downloaded it, I’m keeping it. If 343 takes it out of my storage or disables my usage of it for there own stupid mistakes, then they are about to lose a lot of profit from any of there future releases of DLC or other Halo games. And, in reality, that’s all that

343 and Microsoft have NO right to remove the map pack from your account. You acquired it fairly due to their incompetence. They put the map pack up for FREE and took hours to fix it. Microsoft even tweeted something like “If you can get it for free, its on us”.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour from 343 here, at a time when the community is so against them, they do this.
I kinda feel partially responsible for moving this whole BS story along.
I noticed the post on the Microsoft forums…yes that’s right, MS actually posted about the trial story first.
Then I asked the twitter support guy if it was true, when he said no i pulled him up on it and he then confirmed that the trial story was real…then halo council found my tweet and cited me as source then a few more website followed suit, that’s when 343 realized they HAD to post something on the matter and along came the 14 day BS blog post from BSangel.
I commented on her blog post a few times, they all got deleted, along with everyone else’s it looks like, now posting on it is disable. Inb4 this thread is locked and deleted.

Please explain how its disgusting behavior for 343 to take back the maps they have been working on for months that people got for free due to a mistake by Microsoft. Its greedy people that are the disgusting ones around here that think they are entitled to these maps. Maybe had there not been such a uproar and greedy people demanding compansation because of this mistake, maybe 343 might not be taking them back. Don’t slap a gift bearer in the mouth if you want to keep that gift.
Still, it was a mistake first and foremost. MS admitted this and later decided to roll with the trial story later and 343i followed. Still 343i hasn’t owned up to anything, and it’s painfully obvious that this trial thing was only made up after many people got the maps for free. Just say “hey we screwed up so we’re removing the DLC”. This trial story isn’t truthful, we all know if they originally planned for it they would’ve announced it all proud-like everywhere… but they didn’t because it was an ERROR.
You know who really cares if it’s a cover up or not. the people who got it “free” stole from microsoft if it is a cover up.
Microsoft has the means to disable access for the people who did steal if that is what the case really is. But, MS is going to be nice and let you play it for 14 days before they flip the switch. In the end the only people who should end up being mad (hopefully unless they hit the switch and people that had map pass and LE get their maps taken away by accident.) are the people who stole…so what you going to get mad that you got caught stealing and got caught.

But, I don’t know personally I think it explains the infamous xboxsupport tweet of if it’s free download it and subsequent tweets from them to others asking if they got their specialization codes etc. Would have been nice to hear about this before hand from 343i before hand but whatever…they don’t have to tell us everything.
But anyways, everything is resolved nobody gets a refund and the people with specialization codes and didn’t buy the map pack (or stole it.) get it for 14 days.
