I am COD fan boy gettin whipped. Help Halo boys!

So I just bought Halo while I am waiting on BO3. I’m runnin’ warzones because they seem to be really fun. I am just feelin’ like a total noob though. Could one of you bros please answer my questions?

First of all warzones are awesome. My first question would be-- how on earth are you guys rackin up points so quick? I played an entire game and had like 190 points, and the leader had like 1000 pts. What in the heck? First thing I noticed is by the time we jump off the pelican, I’m clearin the spawn at the beginning. Next thing I know leader has 250 points right off the bat to my… maybe 10 points. Wtf? What is he doin different than me? Second of all, how does the leader maintain such a huge supply of points throughout the match?

I can rack up kills fine. That’s not the problem, my problem is kills don’t mean jack squat. So what the heck do I need to do? I have watched a couple videos and they have advised me to capture bases, defend bases and kill bosses. I have tried that, but it seems every time I do I die, or the boss dies and I don’t get points?

Can someone please help me? I am really tired of noobin it up every round.

the key is to getting the last shot on the boss, as thats what counts.
You cant just run at bosses or bases and hope to capture. with bases, you have to have friendlies around otherwise its a pointless effort. dont run in, clear the outside perimeter before considering moving in.
For bosses, try to have friendlies around, otherwise have a vehicle or appropriate power weapon handy.

First off you should probably delete every mention of COD in your post, that will just attract the unconstructive people here to spout off crap like “git gud scrub”.

Just try not to lone wolf it. Move with the pack, let the more experienced players direct your general direction. Once they point the gun, you pull the trigger.

Killing people is only half of it. You need to kill bosses and capture as well. And like they said, don’t charge into things alone, as Warzone is mostly too big a place to be running around lone wolfing. Most people are actually still learning the ropes just like you as Warzone is brand new to Halo.

Because this is incredibly constructive.

A friendly notice never hurt anyone.

Try and use teamwork. Warzone is an objective gamtype purely. My advice is because you are so new, stick with team mates. They need your support as much as you need theirs and the chances are that they probably have an idea of what to do at the appropriate times. Also try and make friends through chat so you can party up. It’s much easier to organise what to do and where to go when you can talk to your team mates.

I think as long as you are going for the objective WITH some team mates then you will be fine for getting points if you can ALWAYS stay when the base is being captures so you can get the points. Other than that. Keep learning and trying. I don’t really find getting 500+ points every game being an issue unless my team is utterly useless then that’s a normal thing isn’t it, being the start of a new gametype and new game with different mechanics.

EDIT: Also don’t just spam vehicles in. You have to use them at the appropriate time. It’s not very fun when half the team is in vehicles and all the bases are being capped. Objectives take first priority over spawning vehicles unless you can use them to help getting the bosses which are hugely important and if you have a vehicle you are more likely to do way more damage to the bosses than with just your regular weapons.

Number 1.

those first few mobs are one shottable with a Pistol, and you can headshot for kill on the ones that are not when your teammates weaken them for the points for kill.

Number 2.

Explore and get to know where the mobs spawn, they give the most points and most spawns can be soloed.

This is good advice^

Kill the bosses and make sure to get last shot on the legendary (yellow) ones

Holding control of the points is important but I reckon killing the enemy packs that spawn are what win you the game especially the legendary bosses which give your team 150 points well worth you while teaming up and killing those suckers.

Everyone is saying the make sure you

Hope to see ya on the battlefield!

Wow thank you guys for the incredibly useful information. I did not expect such mature, constructive post. Halo community has definitely made a positive impression on me! I have definitely been lone wolfing it, which I didn’t even really think about. Maybe that’s why I’ve been getting stomped on everywhere I go. I’ll definitely experiement with the suggestions. Thank you all.

Focusing on bosses and capturing bases is much more important then racking up kills in this mode, that’s how you rack up point.

Team, team, team.

Alone is NOT how you want to get used to playing!

I try to follow a group from point to point or focus on defending an area - it can be tough sometimes if the opposition is working as a group or REQs a bunch of power vehicles late in a match. If I’m getting worked in a game, I just try to focus on the AI instead.
